“ i didn’t think you’d care. ”
“Well, thanks for believing in me,” Tao replies, his tone sounds sarcastic but playful. There is a small beat of silence between them. For the last couple days, he hasn’t seen much of Ayato, which he would consider normal since the guy usually went out of his way to avoid him. But when he stopped by to check on his friend (friend used very loosely), he wasn’t surprised to see that Ayato had been feeling under the weather. From speaking to a few of his Officers, he also knew that they hadn’t seen Ayato around either.
He narrowly resists the urge to touch Ayato, just to skim a hand over his forehead to make sure he didn’t have a fever. But there’s almost a knee-jerk reaction telling him “NO TOUCHING”, it’s something that Ayato makes sure to remind him over and over–by now, it’s become a mantra in his head. “Of course I care. Don’t sound so down.”
He tilts head his curiously, regarding the other with a cool gaze, “Have you eaten yet? Just ‘cause you feel a little sick, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat, you know! It’s what my Commander always tells me! Or…maybe it was someone else!” Whether Ayato answers or not, Tao still moves towards the window, giving the other a quick wave before hopping onto the sill, “I’ll get you something to eat so just wait here!”
