For those who are lifelong New Yorkers, you may remember that the Met Life building in the background was the famous Pan Am building. Who remembers Pan American (Pan Am) airlines? I flew it many times to Europe on business buying trips with my parents when I was a kid. This building had helipad on the roof. On May 16, 1977 a 30 passenger helicopter tilted over slashing people to death with its rotors while 20 others watched who were waiting to get on the next flight to JFK via the copter. A fourth person was killed over a block away when pieces of metal fell the 60 stories to the street.
