Demons Like Us || @Suitsanddaggers
There was a giant thunk as she let herself back in, the sound of rock scraping slowly across the floor until finally another loud bang as she gave up holding her weight just short of the fire. Her human skin had all but peeled away to reveal the rocky mass of her exoskeleton. however there was no glow, no magma... in the cold she had hardened.
She could only lay in front of the fire trying to absorb the little heat it gave, shaking. She did not have the strength nor ability to make a peep or a cry but it was unmistakable, the demoness was in pain.
She barely had the energy to open her eyes unable to determine if she was alone. She didn’t care. She simply shakily reached out for the flickering flames in the fire place. Her hand finally resting in its fiery tongues.
She had been quiet the idiot indeed.
