I really like Under the Oak Tree and how much the whole story is about change and growth, in all aspects. I drew this after they released a paper version in my country !

Bookstore Haul

I have just gotten Suji Kim’s Under the Oak Tree vol 1 at a bookstore and reading it and OMG - it is so so so trashy but soooo fun!

It has a fancy cover and is a fancy edition but it is very much equivalent of those romance novels formerly sold in grocery stores and airport shops with a shirtless buff man holding a lady bursting out of her dress in an anatomically improbable pose.

He’s hot and bastard-adjacent (in behavior not birth), she’s meek and abused, they have arranged marriage and a lot of sex. The world is very fantasy take on fake medieval Europe . This is like a mini drama in book form and if it was a man, I would not respect myself in the morning for being with it but also come back for seconds.
