【 제이。 the calming, tapping sounds of his nails against the guitar’s wooden surface fill the hushed air of the room, his job as a composer perpetually requiring a quieter working atmosphere, although the chants and laughs of his band members are often missed. the days are getting longer however, the clock is ticking and march will soon come to an end, so he has to make sure everything is ready and prepared for the next month to come. he arrived much earlier than everyone, feeling the need to put extra effort with each released song, thus the company building feels much colder at this time of the day. the corridors seemed longer and there wasn’t anyone to greet him as he passed, alike a shadowy figure, from floor to floor and into the studio room.
it’s the scratchy, soft sound of patting feet which rouse him from his focused mood, a white tiny ball of fur slipping through the creaked door, jumping and biting at his shoes almost in an instant. “hey, you look familiar.” hesitantly and unsure at first, his hands awkwardly hover above the hyper animal, settling for some tender scratches through its thick fur at first --- just to make sure the little rascal isn’t violent. once the dog hardly shows any reaction, jae sighs in slight relief and assumes it’s safe to pick it up, this time giving attention to its head, noticing how the animal gradually relaxes in his arms. “good boy. or girl. or boy. what the hell are you even.”
louder taps echo from outside the room this time, a delicate woman’s breathing breaking the silence, as the door is completely pushed open. it’s the last person he expects to see, so he’s utterly clueless and kinda lost, but after connecting A to B, he assumes the dog belongs to her. “uhm”, awkwardly clearing his throat as he lowers his head, his slender fingers hold the glasses up his nose, “i knew the dog looked familiar. i’m sorry, i don’t know if you’re fine with me petting it or something. he looks harmless, so.” suzy. that’s a name inspiring awe in many people around the company. after all, she’s jyp’s pride and joy and despite her very young age, she’s respected by both old and young.
few were the occasions when he had the chance to mutter a simple greeting to her; she’s a busy woman and rarely has the time to meet everyone. “please, you don’t have to apologise like that, the dog did absolutely nothing wrong. you look so weary though, have you been running with those?” his eyes drop to her high heels, before looking back up at her, an unforeseen worried expression darkening those distinguishable, ethereal features. it’s the typical reaction upon seeing someone like her --- she’s probably a lot more used to it than she’d let it be seen.
