July 15th, the Ulaanbaatar City Governors' office voted to change the name of Sukhbaatar Square to Chinggis Square. I'm surprised! It's like renaming Trafalgar Square or St. Peter's Square or Times Square or something.
Around Sukhbaatar square are the Government Palace, a giant monument to Genghis Khan and his children, the Mongolian stock exchange, the State Ballet, the Central Post Office and other historical buildings.
