The water below gleamed in response to the morning sun above, bringing a smile to Luke’s face, which faltered as a question occurred to him. “Why is it that you can call Sarah Jane ‘old girl’ or ‘old thing’, but I can’t?” The world he found himself in was new and confusing…So many rules that were not written down!

They had gotten out of that one by the skin of their teeth. The Doctor was still sitting on the ground surrounded by UNIT soldiers cleaning up and collecting pieces of what was left of the alien ship. "Jo, will you stop fussing about me. I am perfectly fine. I just got a bit of a knock on the head." He was not exactly fine. He had been blown back by the explosion and landed very hard on his back and head. His back ached and he was possibly concussed. Well not possibly, definitely concussed. He tried to get up but fell back on the ground. "I just lost my footing a bit. I'm assure you I'm fine, Jo."
