oh my gosh, i am such a huge fan of sully’s work (and of sully as a person! we’re very good friends and i’m so glad of it :3), i’m thrilled to have a LH piece of hers to put up for guest month! the shapes, the lighting, the colours... Sully’s art is so unique and appealing, you simply must check it out for yourself (and she’s working on a super cool comic called Art Walkers that you should absolutely stay tuned for!)
I was satching one of Sully-S’ speedpaint videos and tried to make something alike what she drew.the one on the top is what I drew (you can probably see that) The light got a bit messed up. I recomend shecking out Sully-S blog on Tumblr! She’s a LOT better than me.
Oh uh... yeah I drew this a while ago. I know, I’m spamming art right now but I need to fill out my blog. So this is some art that I made. The character’s name is James freeman. He’s my OC, my FIRST OC. I wanted to try out “Sully-s” artstyle. It didn’t end up well but at least I tried. I think it’s a important thing to try out other artists art styles. It improves your art skill a lot. You should really check out Sully-s art profile here on Tumblr. She’s SO GOOD!
I saw @clagreeflams do this so I figured I’d try one as well
1. Birds: This choice may seem strange but I’ve always admired birds and when I’m frustrated with my art I often find myself drawing wings or bird legs
2. Fashion: Fashion plays a BIG BIG ROLE in a lot of my artwork and I often draw directly from fashion magazines
3. Magical Girl anime: Magical girl anime hold a special place in my heart and again a huge influence on me
4. The fabulous artist @tumblino: her artwork is really pretty and especially her illustration of fashion. When I get frustrated with dress detailing she’s the first person’s art I look at (also if you have any issue with me using your art for this Tumblino I will take it down)
5. My little pony: It’s so colorful and cute, I often have episodes playing in the background as I draw
6. Cats: Something that shows up often in my work, a lot of my characters I give cat like traits to because I just love cats
7. History (also historical fashion): Often times when I’m feeling uninspired I look up online articles or documentaries about history and it helps fuel my creativity
8. Daria: Another show I like to keep on in the background as I draw, while it might not always be the best looking show I admire it’s art and it’s humor
9. Steven Universe: LOVE the art style, it hasn’t been around long but it definetly has been a huge influence on me. I absolutely adore the color and stylistic choices
10. Musicals: I often listen to musical soundtracks as I draw so I felt it needed to be put as an influence
11. Sailor Moon: Technically this has already been covered with magical girl anime but Sailor Moon was my first love and has been one of my biggest influences throughout my life so I thought it needed it’s own shoutout
12. The amazing artist @sully-s: Her use of colors and shape is great! It is really inspiring and she really seems to have a good hand of composition in a way that I’m still trying to learn (also sully-s if you don’t want me using this please let me know)
13. Pokemon: Another anime from my childhood, I remember spending hours endlessly trying to draw pokemon so I’m sure it has played a factor in my style development
Courtroom Selfies! So @iggycat gave me the task of putting some of her cosplay pics onto backgrounds that @sully-s drew up the other day(also be sure to check out that blog since there’s more awesome stuff on there). Anyways, I feel like I did my job, and she gave me a lot of pictures so may do more if I feel like it.
