Thought Partner's Bandcamp page states, "We tell people we're a punk band." While they are not hardcore punk, Thought Partner (Boston, Massachusetts) most definitely are punk.
I've listened to "When Your Money Fails" twice now, and my first four band comparisons were Pavement, Minutemen, Protomartyr and Foster Body. I would say it's fair to refer to Thought Partner as punk.
"When Your Money Fails" was issued by new label Sum Studios and the band's earlier cassette release "Work Cake" (2021) was released by Crass Lips Records.
