Thank you, Wormy, for your amazing work, it has been a glorious series of exploding parts of each other's bodies one way or another xD
And thank you all, those who gave this a go - you've ventured into this one and I was not kind to you on that journey, was I? Thank you. Simply thank you.
Eleven mechs isn't a bad haul, especially given how messy July was for me. A nice variety of designs with varying degrees of quality. Some unexpected hits, with Mech #4 being like one of my best posts on this site period?!?
To anyone who started following me during this, I'm gonna have to apologize because I don't typically post at anywhere near this rate for most of the year.
Part two of getting a glimpse into Shilo's past, this time featuring a new friend! Just in case anyone doesn't feel like catching up using the #Shattered Echo or #Shattered Echo P2 tags, including links to writing and art posts.
Technically a MMM style event, so wanted to do this summary for any people who block those tags so they won't miss out on the backstory.
As always, thanks to everyone for being a fans of my work, it means the world to me. ;3;
This event starts a few minutes into Shilo stepping foot on land, extremely tired of the life of a stowaway. She exits to Canalave City, Sinnoh, though she doesn't figure out where she is until a bit later. She finds out with delight that the city has a 24 hour library, which she temporarily uses as a place to sleep. She is mildly annoyed by the patrons, but is able to both read and feel safe there as she adjusts to her new surroundings.
The day after, she is separated from her phone when a stranger surprises her. The stranger identifies herself as Dominique (or "Doomi",) and interacting with people through the blog in order to find Shilo and return the phone. She eventually figures out that Shilo will likely run if she's approached, so sets the phone out as a trap to meet her.
After reuniting with her phone, Shilo learns that Doomi is planning on traveling to Sandgem, where the professor's lab is located. Doomi offers to escort her there. While traveling, Doomi secretly works to soften Shilo up. (Shilo was very much heavily masked and rudely defensive against everyone as a younger kid.)
They only briefly pass through Jubilife, Doomi sharing the history of the areas they pass.
Arriving in Sandgem, it appears the professor will be a few days until he returns. In the meantime, Doomi and Shilo hang out. Doomi catches a Clamperl, and Shilo gets to have her first infodump to an interested party.
The two, unfortunately, need to temporarily separate due to Doomi needing to meet up with family in Twinleaf. Shilo is... Upset, but Doomi promises to reunite in Oreburgh in a few days to a week.
Shilo enters the lab, confronting Professor Rowan at last. He seems mildly suspicious of the girl, as she has no ID and no paperwork. He seems to be about to refuse, but Shilo alights in a fiery passion, convincing him that she was truly meant to be a trainer. She panics when asked for her full name, quickly glancing around the room to see a Sumac tree and blurting it out as her new last name, which of course, sticks! Her starter ends up being chosen for her, as they had none left besides a Turtwig that has grown older from being passed up for being a starter for so long. With her new friend she receives her Pokedex, trainers liscense and Pokeballs. Her new Pokemon is named Urtle, the first in her official team! (Rin doesn't count as she doesn't want to be caught and can't be used in the Sinnoh league anyway.) Urtle is a bit wilted and jaded, but they start to bond anyway. She officially begins her journey.
She passes through Jubilife pretty quickly again, finding it uninteresting and oddly... Less fun and colorful than before. She enters Orburgh Tunnel, having only minor issues along the way.
Shilo finally arrives at Oreburgh and starts to realize just how much she enjoyed having company despite herself. She decides to train in the mines to pass time, heading deeper and deeper, battling a LOT to train Urtle (and maybe, possibly, to distract herself from being away from her first real friend.) Eventually she gets bored of the designated trainer areas and sneaks in deeper, finding the area comforting. Going into a more dangerous area results in her finding more dangerous Pokemon. Specifically a Rhyhorn. Using her knowledge of Pokemon (and Urtle learning razor leaf from the adrenaline of the moment) she is able to catch a new team member (with only a little bit of a risk to her life!) Bessie the Rhyhorn.
Shilo starts to retreat to her mask and isolation as she thinks on how Doomi isn't there yet. She had wanted to fight the gym for the first time with her watching, but she's finally kicked out of the mines for her repeated battling the miners and going in too deep. She's too restless to wait, so she decides to go for the gym.
Roark is busy wrapping up a battle with a youngster as Shilo enters the first time. The youngster crashes into her, eliciting a nasty comment from Shilo (starting her off on the wrong foot with Roark as he overhears this.) The gym leader notes her pride at being on a winstreak and decides to check her ego by saying he'll use his higher level team. Shilo is too stubborn to back down, so they battle.
The battle goes surprisingly well for Shilo. She is able to strategize Urtle using curse repeatedly as Roark's Rampardos attacks, withstanding moves with a higher defense and strengthening his attack for when he is fully charged up with curse power. With the power of absorb helping him along whenever he got low. Eventually, they are able to beat Roark's first Pokemon. Roark is starting to get impressed despite himself, but won't give up so easily. However, his next higher level Pokemon, a Tyranitar, is able to knock out Urtle with ease with an ice punch. Roark withdraws, deciding for the good of Shilo's Pokemon to call the battle a draw. He remarks that she impressed him, and promises they can battle on more even footing the next day.
Leaving the gym, a bit dejected at losing her streak, she luckily is able to reunite with her new friend! Doomi apologizes, but reveals she has a present! It's a Gible! Shilo, absolutely full of emotion, tackles Doomi with happiness as they spin and fall over with giggles.
They hang out some more, seeing some suspicious people in weird uniforms (Galactic!) but paying them not much attention.
With this, part two ends! Whew, felt a lot longer to write this all up. Please let me know if I missed anything or any links are broken!
Unfortunately, Shilo starts obsessively reading back these posts on her own time, and starts to develop bad coping mechanisms.

A small WIP.. First time writing a fanfic. I’ll get a consistent style eventually! Not proof-read.
Prologue
Miguel O’hara has you cornered in his lab. You’ve been in similar situations before, captured and bound by him. It’s a normal part of your routine. Yet, this is different. You aren’t giving false threats, and he isn’t retaliating with empty promises. There isn’t the usual sound of you trying to escape; He isn’t attempting his usual power play. No, you’re both stuck within a familiar red-lit office. He is rummaging through the disorganized lab, throwing items half hazardously. His increasing frustration, drowning out any other noise.
His glowing eyes leave a distinctive trail. You follow it, your own eyes squinted and weary at the sight of the monster pacing before you. Your skin crawls as your own spider senses detect disarray. You’re picking up on his frantic heartbeat. His haste accompanied by a nearly undetectable swift motion. You flinch, yet your eyes catch him impale his shoulder with a neon mock-tail injection. Stricken with silent horror, your eyes remain on the mystery liquid as it drains from the tube. You only pry away from the sight when you hear muffled breathing. Your attention darts to his face, noticing his grimace. The change of expression almost reminds you that somewhere in there; he is part human.
But you two aren’t friends. You don’t owe him that realization.
You’re just a stray spider, and him? He’s the revered leader of Spider Society.

We weren’t planning on starting a new entry till our next exploration but… well… shit happened so…
Ok, let’s just get on with the report.
First of all, the name of the shadow nest we have been exploring was apparently Crossroads, and Ordell is but the first area of it.
Theory is that a new area will open every time we complete an existing one, which is why Galdur is now open to us now that we’ve reached the end of Ordell.
Ordell consists of 15 floors total from start to finish, with each floor changing its shape every time it is re-entered.
According to initial scans of the newly formed gate, Galdur is likely to be similar in function to Ordell. That being said, it appears to be way bigger than Ordell is, and initial scans show its interior looking vastly different from that of Ordell’s.
In fact, according to the data I’ve been sorting through, it is likely that Crossroads is made up of a series of connected pocket dimensions that formed a cluster system.
Or… uh… in slightly less scientific terms, Crossroads is basically a couple of half-formed universes that decided to group themselves together.
Not much is known about why Crossroads is reacting in such ways, but it’s expansion only serves to show that there are still countless mysteries about the place we have yet to discover.
Another thing worthy of note (that Kalani had just brought up) is the distinct lack of shadow attacks on the center ever since Ordell came into existence. Could it be possible that the shadows simply stayed in Crossroads now that they had a place to go? More research is needed on this matter.
Now, on our second topic, it appears that persona users (and people with aura abilities) have the capabilities to control their movements in Multispace. This is especially fascinating, as normal human beings can only float in the void and perhaps attempt to “swim” their way around with little to no control over their movements in Multispace. However, persona users are able to walk in the void that is Multispace, and the level of control is pretty immense considering how one could “climb” and “descend” in the void just by willing it to happen.
Given how having an aura ability apparently has the same effect, it is likely that gaining a persona is related to our soul and life force in some way. Kalani has agreed with this statement, stating getting a new persona to be like “opening one’s soul to more possibilities”. More research is needed on this matter as well, but I believe it to be of some merit.
