I am doing Salem State's Summer Bridge Academy this summer to boost up my grades and get into Salem! Is anyone else going this summer? Has anyone ever done it before? Let me know!!
I'm going to start at UC Merced in June... I'm scared out of my freaking pants.
Tomorrow, I will finally be going back home.
I'd be more excited if I didn't know about how much yelling my dad is gonna do when I get back. Because he always fucking yells at me. For every little shit. Definitely gonna go spend the rest of the summer at my mom's if I can.
I have officially moved into my dorm :D
UPM Summer Bridge Program experience
WEEK 1
It was mostly orientation on the purpose this program. Getting to meet other participants and orientation on the classes. There are two classes that we needed to attend: Psychosocial and the subject we were assigned to, in my case, tentenenen, Math.
Psychosocial starts 10:30 am until 12 noon after which we are given a one-hour break. The next class starts at 1 pm until 2:30. This is a daily affair akin to summer classes. I've met my math professor already who'll probably be my math professor in the coming school year as told by the officials. Her name's Ms. Avegail Carpio, a Computer Science graduate.
She's cool and aloof. Quite the professor you'd hope for on your first take in college.
WEEK 2
Started the official classes last Monday and went better than I expected. Discussed about sets and exponents but DANG. I never knew math exists solely to torture lost souls like mine. It's Simbulan math times ten. (Hi Ma'am! You rock!)
We were given a 71-item homework on the first day all of which is about sets. We were given yet another truck-load of homework this time about exponents. Welcome to the University of the Philippines Manila eh?
It's just really quite a relief to have a day off and ponder on the things I've gotten myself into.
So yeah, I'll just have to face the next days and hope for the best. With God, nothing is impossible. That's it for my first UPM encounter. :)
