walking to work in my Birkenstocks/flipflops 

the new ‘song of the summer’ tunes from my favourite artists that i learn all the words to 

glowy/dewy summer makeup

wearing sunglasses!

wearing cute shorts/rompers

barbeque dinners on the deck with iced tea and chips 

driving to the cottage on a Friday afternoon and not coming home until the Monday 

walking to get ice cream 

the first swim in the lake 

how time seems to stretch forever 

spontaneous road trips to beaches and farmers markets 

being able to have fresh fruit for snacks and dessert 

campfires on the beach 

the smell of your sweatshirt after a campfire and how marshmallows taste 

skin that smells like sunscreen

curly frizzy hair from the heat 

hearing the radio say the high temperatures expected every morning 

balmy summer nights when the radio is low and you're just driving through some sleepy town with your friends 

singing a throwback jam at a summer party 

red solo cups 

going out at 10 or 11 at night for impromptu mcdonalds runs 

rocket popsicles 

summer rain storms when all you can hear is the thunder and lightning 

sleeping under just a blanket in gym shorts and an oversized baggy tshirt summer because the air conditioning isn’t on 

when the last few days of august roll around and you start to look back through your camera roll of all the memories and mementos you kept
