Finished my first cross stitch that wasn't a pre-made kit! Colors aren't exact since I didn't have DMC but I love how it turned out and it was a ton of fun to work through, I'm a fan of the font

christmas in july

Christmas in July is not an idea I am on board with.

I am not even a lover of autumn.

The Americans have the right idea, calling it fall. The season certainly falls out of favour with me.

Not for me the joys of kicking through fallen leaves (too many experiences of concealed dog muck!) or the thrill of cold mornings and dark evenings.

Making things, for me, always has to come from a place of inspiration.

I can’t, even when I have been provided with great ideas that should be put into action, just churn out stuff willy-nilly. I have to feel that spark.

I do have a good few ideas brewing – many of which were provided by some of my blog and Facebook page readers.

And I haven’t forgotten that I need to trawl through all of them…

Question to the quilters:

Yo, I'm making a quilt with paper piecing. It's my first time quilting anything other than a few pillows and a lap quilt in elementary school. Sooo, my question is does paper piecing take a lot of effort? More or less than a 9-square quilt, I mean. I'm just doing the middle pieced and the rest is 3x3 alternating squares.
