Day one of my “catch up or die trying” week was mostly successful. I did manage to get up early, but not quite early enough for a run. Instead, I did a pretty intense, if short, arm workout at home. And adjusted my alarm for a little earlier to try again tomorrow.
Ran in the afternoon and completed Week 3 Day 1, finally. I just focused real hard on staying slow, and it worked! I even decreased my overall pace - by a lot! - since I wasn’t so exhausted during the walking portions.
I do have a couple of mantras. The first I like so much that I even tattooed it on me:
Unfortunately when my phone holder is on my arm I can’t see it (when I got it, I was using a different one and this was visible) but it’s a reminder that, no matter what I’m doing, I need to focus on one thing at a time.
