I’ve seen some people saying that iwst was written by Brendon about infidelity in Mormon churches, but I couldn’t find anything about that...do you know anything about it?

I've never heard that.

But on this general topic: I do want to add that a lot of the songs were created with the guys bouncing ideas around, so even if something wasn't the main idea or inspiration, something could have still been thrown out there for vibes too. And idk everything that was going on in Brendon's mind for personal inspiration when he was writing music for some of the songs.

I’ve heard some people say AFYCSO was named because Ryan Ross got a fever before release, but I’ve also heard people say that’s just rumors. Any insight?

I've never heard that. AFYCSO's title was revealed shortly after the band left the studio, which was almost 2 months before the album was released. Ryan did not spend his time in the studio with a high fever.

Also, are people taking the album title literally? like they think it's a literal fever from being sick??

Ryan's lj entries made it sound like he would've started drafting this song in late spring 2005, but I'm tagging it as summer because it fits that better

Pete designed his own “Pete! at the Disco” shirt for the 2005 Hard Rock Live show in early June 2005. There were definitely some fans at that show who found P!ATD through his shirt before AFYCSO had been recorded!

Then that show aired in early November during the Nintendo Fusion Tour and Pete's shirt got even more attention. FBR's webstore added a maroon version of that shirt around the same time that the show aired. It came with a pack of letters so fans could iron their own name on. In my memory this was only available for a short time... like just in November maybe? It was just a late 2005 thing.

Matt Squire & the band both mentioned this idea a few times back then, but I love Matt's recent quote in WAYBT best because of the conversational tone that really shows exactly how green the band was in the studio in summer 2005:

"I told them to go set up in my live room, and I got on the phone, chilling, as producers do. I'm looking out into the live room, and they'd kind of set up some stuff, but they were all stuck. They kind of set up the drums, but no cymbals. They're all mystified, standing around one of those rack tuners they had on top of the bass amp, trying to figure out how to get the rack tuner patched into the amp. I'm watching this whole thing thinking, 'Dude it's a rack tuner. You plug the one cord here, the one cord out there, come on.' It was a brand-new rack tuner they'd just taken out of the box. Like 'Why don't they have gear? What is this?' I remember hanging up my one call, calling up Scott Nagelberg, and being like 'Dude, I forgot to ask you, have these guys ever played a show before?' And he says 'No, why?' I was like, 'Never mind!'"

(Spencer had added right before this that "we probably bought some of our gear at Guitar Center on the way out of town" on their way to Maryland).
