Animating in 2D: Hair and Clothing
I want my animations to look as interesting as possible, so I though looking at animating secondary animations (such as hair and clothes) would help me improve my work. there is even a helpful guide on how to making fabric look more interesting by drawing basic shape, and then expanding on it.
Just like in Dermot O’Connor other lessons, having an arch in your animation is the best way to make your animation look as smooth and interesting as possible, but with things like hair it’s a lot more complicated because the are so many different groups of hair that (depending how detailed you want your character to be) you have to arch all the groups in a natural way. They need to come of as random, so they don’t look to artificial, but still they shouldn't be to random. Its quite strange to explain, O’Connor does a much better job at explaining.
also, having drag in the animation (with the clothes and hair) can improve the animation as whole, making sudden stops look much smoother.
