Summary: Hecarim is a jerk, but you take his verbal abuse when it means you get to have him fuck you. He's a centaur and you know he's big, anticipating the stretch as he mounts you.
You'd taken big guys before, and you did it with gusto in your humble opinion. Though Aatrox might have been a bridge too far, you took a champion like Mordekaiser like a champ. A new challenger had appeared though, and it was none other than Hecarim.
He was an asshole to you most of the time. A smug bastard showing off, acting like he was too good for you and that he was doing you a favour talking to you, but there was an underlying current of want - perhaps even need.
That he enjoyed your company despite his foul personality was a given. Everyone could see that he kept you down to make himself feel good, but he didn't tolerate anyone else speak bad about you. When someone was a jerk to you he would even come to your "rescue" on occasion, and though you hadn't asked for it, you couldn't deny that it did make you feel a little better. It wasn't all great, he wasn't exactly the best company, but you had gotten used to the champions personalities and how most of them were more than a little rough around the edges.
He was your dark knight in shining armour. Protecting you from others and leaving the bullying to himself.
You let his comments slide off your back, only really interested in 1 thing from him. After all, he was a large monstrous centaur with a booming, rumbly voice that vibrated your very bones. You wanted his huge cock up your pussy.
And with the way his glowing eyes followed your every movement, intimidating you with his height and making more than the occasional comment about your looks, he wanted that too.
-
One thing led to another, and that's how you found yourself against a wall near the stables. Intimidating, armoured, ghost centaur hovering over your small frame as you had to crane your neck to look at him.
"I'm starting to feel like you don't know what you're asking for, mortal," he said, voice lowered to an almost whisper as he ran his weapon of choice - a heavy looking glaive - from your legs to your chin, dragging your summoners cloak up as he went. "I will cleave you in half."
Though he held the blade against your neck, it was obvious he wasn't talking about the weapon hurting you. If he was in any way build like a horse "down there" his cock was going to be proportionally big, and though you had flirted your way into this situation, you agreed that you might have bitten off more than you could chew. Though that was never going to stop you.
As you looked down a ghostly green cock greeted you, already emerged from its sheath, and you licked your lips.
"I might be crazy, but I know what I want," you replied, leaning forward against the sharp blade of the glaive. He instantly retreated it, pausing for just a second before a booming laugh erupted from him.
"Indeed."
His face was nearly static, a combination of a human head and the helmet he wore when the Shadow Isles were created in a blast of corrupted magic. Sharp, metal teeth were at your neck, biting down and leaving bloody scratches in their wake. Nothing about him was gentle. Large, clawed hands kneading your soft body as he made appreciating sounds in the back of his throat. He moved you this way and that, pushing you up higher against the wall so he wouldn't have to crane down so much, his hands reaching under your cloak and into your pants until he found what he was looking for. Your lower lips that were already swollen with anticipation. He hissed something about how wet you were as sharp claws carefully entered your throbbing hole. He fingered you roughly as you were hanging on for dear life, knowing that you needed all the prep you could get. He bit at your neck, holding you up until your feet left the ground as he pushed and pulled at your outfit, making sure he had free access to every part of you without disrobing you. It wasn't so much that he cared about your privacy as much as just him being impatient, but it served the purpose of you being anonymous enough. You could pass for any other summoner and though you still hoped no Riot agents of the Institute of War were to come across you, you could probably run and maintain your innocence as they looked who to ban. You were practically drooling, moving your hips forward desperately chasing orgasm while he added more fingers. You reached your climax soon, shuddering and moaning, head thrown back against the wall. Only realizing he'd put his entire fist up your pussy when he pulled it out and you saw it glisten in the light.
"Look at that," he said, "You might be able to take me after all, despite you being so small." He couldn't grin in the traditional sense, but you heard the glee in his voice as he took in his fist covered in your juices.
Then he decided you needed a change of scenery.
He wasn't gentle with you as he dragged you up, finding a bench nearby he could deposit you on. Your knees scraped against the rough wood, and as you tried to look over your shoulder you were pushed forward roughly, ghostly body pushed up against you. Through the cloak you wore you couldn't feel much, but the throbbing against your ass cheeks reaching all the way to your shoulder blades had you swallow thickly. His hands held your belly up, dragging your body against his lower body and he made a growling sound at the friction.
"Stay this way," he growled, holding your ass up against him. "Or don't. I will use you as a cock sleeve either way."
You held yourself up high, rubbing your ass against his lower belly. The bench you were on was just a little too low for you to be comfortable, your arms already straining, but you'd manage. You hoped. His first thrust against you had you fall forward and you groaned. Maybe you had overestimated yourself a little, or underestimated the force with which Hecarim moved against you. He scoffed.
"Come on, little summoner, with all that power you exert to control us champions I'd expected a little more from you." His words were scathing, but they didn't hurt so much when his throbbing cock was against your back while he humped your ass.
"Just... just hold me up or something," you hissed, getting back up and feeling the wood of the glaive under your arms, pulling you up under his belly. He wasn't going to lean down unnecessarily, not risking any strain to his back while he took his sweet time mounting you. It was uncomfortable and hurt your chest a bit, but it would keep you in place. You'd be more angry if your hands weren't free to undo your jeans fully now. Hanging on for dear life as he chuckled at your impatience while you dragged the pants down, pulling up the cloak as you wiggled your ass up at him. The centaur bristled, hind legs kicking when he realized you were finally ready for him.
You were still leaking, clear liquid dripping down your legs as you anticipated him inside of you. It would be a stretch, despite the earlier preparation, and you swallowed thickly when you felt the flared tip of his ghostly cock against your burning core.
"Hecarim," you groaned, feeling him push in slowly, pulling you tighter against him. "Please be gent-"
He pushed in as far as he was able before you could finish your sentence, a cruel, booming laugh vibrating through you as he moved. "You can take it," he said, voice thick with pleasure while he mounted you, penetrating deeper inside you than you thought you ever were.
The words were fucked from your lungs with every push, unable to take a full breath before he rutted back into you with almost violent thrusts. The only sounds leaving you were gasped breaths as you tried to hold on, taking him as good as your human body could. He seemed satisfied enough if the rumbling groans were any indication.
His dick felt like heaven and hell all at once, and you weren't sure if you were dying from pleasure or just hanging on for dear life. He was in so deep you swore he hit your cervix with every thrust, and you cried out in arousal and pain, brain struggling to keep up as you were fucked stupid by the large ghostly centaur. He paid little mind to your internal struggle, taking from you what he wanted with loud sounds of pleasure, uncaring to cover any of his pleasured noises. The large cock throbbed inside of you, and the thought that you could take him and cause him that much pleasure had you floating, orgasm quickly building again as you leaked down onto the bench below you. As you looked down you could see the bulge in your belly every time he pushed into you, and you reached down to touch it, pressing down and sobbing in pleasure at the feeling. You were glad he was holding you up, certain with the way you were shaking from pleasure you wouldn't have been able to, crying out when you reached orgasm. Tears running down your face as you squeezed down on him, milking him for all he was worth.
He came soon after, groaning about how small and tight you were as he filled you to the brim with hot cum. And then some more. The bulge of his cock seemed to grow as he spend himself inside, cum filling you to the brim and leaking out down your legs. The bench below you was not saturated with both your cum and his, and you sobbed at the feeling and thought of it.
"Fuck, Heca," you cried, shuddering against him as he held you tight to him, unable to escape the onslaught of his seed hitting your insides.
"There we go," he groaned, "took me well, very well."
You were lowered down onto the bench, the cool feeling of his belly disappearing from your back while you tried to cover yourself back up with the cloak you were wearing. Birds still sung their little songs around you, reminding you of where you were right now, keeping you awake though your body cried out for sleep.
"Think you can take another load?" he said, voice tinged by sadistic pleasure as you saw his hanging cock twitch back up, ready for another round. "I'm sure you can."
A groan came from you when you leaned back onto the bench, legs widening without your brain telling them to. Your muscles and pussy screamed at you for rest, but the thought of taking him again had you aroused all the same. Maybe you needed to convince him to take it to a bedroom.

PART 1
You’re not the Summoner. You’re only but a faceless member of the Order of Heroes. You grew up reading and listening to stories about the Legendary Great Hero who would one day wield Breidablik to bring peace to the continent, and end this senseless war. You wanted to do your part, much like anyone else.
Commander Anna knows you - of course she does, as commander, she should know the names and faces of every single member who volunteered for this cause. And that alone she’s grateful to you.
But the Askran siblings - you know they were nice, and you know that they have the same goal as you. But you weren’t important and you weren’t a Hero - when you die, no one will remember your name. You’re just one of those nameless soldiers who died for the sake of their kingdom. A sacrifice. Cannon fodder.
You knew this and yet you fought anyway. It was all for your family. It was all for the friends you left in the village. Because someone needs to help.
Training was all left to you and ranking members who weren’t anything special in the order. Your captains did their best to make sure that your training was on par with the Heroes, making sure that none of you were in the way, making sure you all knew what to do. You were a few, couldn’t even call yourselves a platoon. A lot of people tend to forget that the Order had human beings like you, and when they say “Order of Heroes” it was.... well... always the Heroes and their reckless royal siblings.
The heir to the throne and his spare were both putting themselves at risks. Some of the few members understood it to be setting as an example, in hopes that more members would join and that they wouldn’t rely too much on Heroes. But in truth, it had an opposite effect. It was reckless, it was stupid, if both of them died, who would lead Askr to a future? If the King dies and both of them are gone, where is the future?
It wasn’t... royal like. You weren’t even part of the nobility, never even stepped foot into the royal castle. You were a mere commoner trying to make a living while protecting the kingdom in your own way. Even when there’s no recognition to it. The thought of fighting so your family wouldn’t was enough for you.
The Order didn’t make any money. It was mostly being funded by the government, and if the monthly budget didn’t make it - they had to think of ways. You reported the discovery of Aether Keep to the commander, and she commended you and your unit for a job well done. Your fellow members commended you guys for it, because it meant that no more part time jobs to feed those Heroes with your own labor. They weren’t all bad, the Heroes. Even though you were invisible to them, they showed kindness when they saw you.
But one thing did bother you. The royal siblings - Aether Keep was something of the past, to battle in the skies. It provided so much for the Order such as inns, crops, a music hall, everything they needed to relax for once instead of training on an endless basis. Yes, the commander, your comrades and some of the Heroes commended you for a job well done - but not them.
They were above you. You know that. They wouldn’t be talking to a lowly commoner like you, but it just bothered you. Because you and your unit found the Keep and yet... it was the Summoner who was congratulated. The Summoner who was praised.
You didn’t have any ill-will towards the Summoner. They were kind, concerned, innocent, good - they knew nothing about warfare and yet they did their part to help end this war. Just like you did when you first came. You were there to protect not for recognition.
Heroes who died could be revived, thanks to the Summoner’s powers. But your comrades... your comrades who fell did not share the same mercy from the gods. When they die, they die. Cannot be revived. It wasn’t the Summoner’s fault. You keep on telling yourself.
You saw it with your eyes. The Muspell flames.
Your task was simple, you and your unit were to go to a certain place in Askr to see what was going about. A woman who seemed to be like a Hero to you, was fighting by herself while the village was being destroyed, burn down into ashes until there was nothing left. You knew this village, you knew these fields - you used to come with your siblings to play around while your parents were having their own leisure of an alone time.
Now it’s gone. Nothing but the red sky and ash smoke. You fought. You all fought. But it was no use. None of you had magic, that wasn’t the law of your world. Mages were rare and not all mages wanted to sacrifice their lives for nothing. You watched your captain burning, reaching his hand to you as you felt the painful fuel of the flames of Muspell.
Run. He said with his dying breath. Run. Warn them.
Miraculously, as if it were the Dragon of Askr’s will - you made it back to the Order of Heroes. Your skin covered in burns and all you could mutter to your Commander was one phrase: The flames... the flames....
None of them thanked you. Few of the Heroes (mostly the Heroes who healed you) thanked you for your service, and gave their condolences for the loss of your friends. You were in your room, ordered to stay in and rest, Sakura and Wrys would come to you four times a day to tend to your burns - and try to cheer you up. They would bring friends, although you were thankful for their kindness - your heart still felt the loss of your unit... your squad, your family.
The commander came and offered her condolences and had assured you that their families have been well compensated, all Anna hoped for was for you to forgive yourself.
Even when you’re stuck in your room trying to regain your health, you weren’t important. You knew you weren’t important. Everyone was more focused on this new Hero named Fjorm from the Kingdom of Nifl. And as always, the Summoner was praised for finding her.
The Summoner this.
The Summoner that.
The Summoner wasn’t the one fighting the battles, it was all you and your comrades. The faceless, nameless comrades who died... who were just forgotten because they weren’t Heroes.
You couldn’t help but hate the Summoner. Hate the Prince. Hate the whole Order.
None of you were important. The volunteers from Askr were not important. Even when everyone dines together in the mess hall, you all knew your place. You had your own place at the edge of the hall as the Heroes dine and laugh with the higher members such as the commander, the Summoner, and the royal siblings. There was such a wall between the normal folk and the Heroes - there finally came a time where some volunteers... left during the war with Muspell and Embla.
Because you all didn’t feel welcome in the ranks at all.
"You’re leaving too?!” You could hear Commander Anna’s reaction from across the corridors of the ancient castle.
“I am so sorry Commander.” Your fellow comrade bowed in apology, behind the pillar you couldn’t help but listen and started thinking for yourself as well. “But even when all our goals are the same, to stop this war and protect the ones we love... I don’t feel welcome at all Ma’am. It’s not your fault or the Heroes. It’s just... I can’t keep it up anymore. I’m tired of trying to keep up with big names and we’re just... us volunteers are just nothing.”
“Are... are you all feeling this way?” The Commander’s tone was sincere. Broken. As if she was starting to question her own leadership.
“We all have... especially since (y/n) came back to us.” Your comrade admitted in complete shame. “She and her unit... her captain brought out the best in us, trained us, took care of us. But seeing their sacrifices meant nothing to the Order - what’s the point of service if we’re just going to be forgotten in the end?”
“I didn’t...” The commander was in utter shock. She couldn’t comprehend on how this was going around the volunteer members. “I wasn’t...”
“We don’t blame you ma’am. And we are grateful for the opportunity to serve Askr. We have... outlived our purpose now, ma’am. With all of these Heroes, you don’t need us anymore.” He bowed, you couldn’t help but feel his full sense of hesitation and even regret. “I’m really sorry ma’am. I wish you the best on the war effort.”
You couldn’t help but wonder if it was right. Did you truly outlive your purpose?
The following morning wasn’t better when you saw your roommate packing up their things. And you said. “You’re leaving too, huh?”
“Yeah,” your roommate casually answered as they continued to pack their belongings. “I gave my resignation to the Commander earlier. I don’t want to leave but… we’re not needed here anymore and the Order made that clear.”
“You’re a captain, what will happen to your unit?”
“My unit is leaving with me.” You looked at your roommate as they just finished packing. Giving you a smile of reassurance was all they could do for you. “It sounds like we’re ganging up on the Commander, doesn’t it?”
You were still in a state of shock. And yet, you didn’t question their decision, it was understandable. “I won’t lie… but it does… but… but why—I don’t understand.”
“Surtr is trying to attack every village he could find that doesn’t have a strong protection from the Order and the Knights. Commander Anna is doing everything in her power, we know that. King Gustav too and I know we have much more Heroes than before, and they’re a more capable bunch that us… they’ll do well.”
“What will you all do?”
Your roommate sighed. “We’re all going home to our respective villages. Muspell is playing with the Knights but they’re only defending the capital, the Order is more focused on gathering intel for the king but… even we were replaced by Heroes in that field. Protecting villages with no fighting force seems to be the most logical option. That’s what the others are doing. How ‘bout you?” Your roommate gave a wary smile. “Are you still going to stay?”
“Maybe.” You shrugged, avoiding eye contact. You didn’t know what to do. A part of you still wanted to be involved with the Order because of your beliefs but, the other part didn’t want you to say because none of you were being valued. “I’ll try to stay for a while, I won’t lie… leaving has also crossed my mind from time to time.”
Closing their suitcase, your roommate nodded. “Alright, I’ll see you in the village if you made up your mind then.”
After giving you a pat on the shoulder, you just watched your roommate leave. Things weren’t progressing as smoothly as everyone hopped for. Some of the Heroes did notice the decline of volunteer folks and you couldn’t help but wonder if this became a problem for the commander. You wondered if the Summoner or the Prince and Princess noticed it themselves. The more people left; the more Heroes were being summoned into the Order.
The mess hall was livelier than before now. With more Heroes meant more friends but, you looked around to only find almost no familiar faces that were in your circle. You realized; you were the only non-hero in the mess hall now. Everyone else left. The music, the laughter, the jokes, they were all noises for you now.
You were just one nameless soldier in a room filled with important figures.
“You haven’t touched your food (y/n), something on your mind?” You looked up to find one of the castle’s servants looking at you with concern. You didn’t realize that everyone in the mess hall was already gone, including the Commander and the Summoner.
“There is, actually.” You couldn’t help but sigh. “I’m also thinking of leaving.”
“You too?”
You smiled at that ironic question. “Yeah… me too. I guess leaving on my own free will is better than being sacked eventually. No one even noticed the decrease of numbers; the Summoner just keeps on replacing us anyway. The more Heroes they summon, who knows when the Commander will tell me to just sleep in a tent outside so they could have a room and a bed.” You joked.
The servant Dahlia sat across you, giving out a small pout. “Now, now… you know Anna wouldn’t do something like that.”
“It… just crossed my mind.” You answered honestly. “With the volunteers leaving, there would be more room in the barracks for the Heroes right? It hasn’t been even the following day and I already have a new neighbor. Maybe my comrades are right… we already outlived our purpose. Everything was simpler when Zacharias was still here.”
Dahlia just nodded. “Things were simpler when the captain was here but, he’s not anymore. Do you think Captain Zacharias would be happy seeing you all like this?”
No one knew what happened to Zacharias. Though he was close to Prince Alfonse and Princess Sharena since they were young, he used to be your unit captain. He took care all of you, trained you, scolded you, gave you wisdom – the Summoner was no replacement for him. Everyone knew that. Zacharias would want you to follow your heart. Not think of yourself a burden.
You shook your head. “Good.” Dahlia smiled. “No one can force you to stay or go, (y/n), that’s your decision to make. And if you’re leaving too well… all I can do is wish you luck on future endeavors.”
Perhaps with a bit of luck you would know what to do. But fortune frowns before you, you didn’t know what to do. For years, all you could think about was joining the Order of Heroes to do your part. To help fight and protect those who couldn’t protect themselves. The years were kind and fruitful, filled with laughter and friendship – but now they’re nothing but a shard of a memory as you walked down the cold, empty corridors of the castle.
In your room, you proceeded to write a letter. Describing your thoughts and explaining why your decision to leave the order was made. Neatly folding it, you left for the Commander’s chamber. Knowing Anna, she would still be awake by this time – after all, she was once a volunteer like you before the old man retired and chose her to be his successor.
In your mind, you rehearsed and rehearsed what you were going to say to her. How you made up your mind and will follow the decision of your former comrades. Many good soldiers came and went, and they were gone not because they were killed in the battlefield, but rather they left on their own free will.
You were about to knock, but for a single moment, you hesitated the moment you heard crying from inside.
Anna’s crying. You noted to yourself. Found yourself froze in front of the door, with your hand about to knock the door. You couldn’t do it. You wanted to. You wanted to leave. You were unhappy with what the Order has become and how you were all treated. You wondered if you were an ungrateful soul, wanting recognition for things you have done – things that any Hero would do, but because you had no name, you were nothing, you weren’t recognized.
You knew Anna was grateful, wasn’t that enough for you? Was it too much to ask for the whole Order to know the deeds you have done? The sacrifices that you had to endure? Hearing the commander cry made your heart feel even more pain than the burns on your skin.
“May I help you?” You jumped in fright, turning around to see the Summoner. “You heard the crying too, huh?”
“Yes… Summoner.” You looked down. Not wanting to look into their eyes. Even if you did, you couldn’t see them. The Summoner always wore their hood and no one has ever seen their face. Some did speculate that only members of the royal family and the commander are able to do so, but there was never any proof.
But Kiran already had an idea why you were in front of Anna’s room. “What’s that on your hand?” They asked quietly. It wasn’t stern or serious, but rather calm and worried.
“My… resignation, Summoner.”
Kiran nodded. “You’re leaving too. I see… may I ask why?”
Why?! You wanted to snap. How… how could they? After everything you and your comrades did for this Order, wasn’t it obvious why you chose to follow? But it was late and you didn’t want to cause anymore trouble for Anna. You’d be gone in the morning anyway. So, you answered. “I don’t belong here anymore, Summoner.”
The Summoner was quiet, but continued to listen to what you had to say. “I’m aware of the damages that this war has caused the kingdom. I’m also aware of the selfishness that has come to mind, thinking about myself rather than the benefit of those who need our protection. I won’t speak for my comrades who left before me – but I’m not being valued here. When a soldier leaves, a Hero takes our place right? We’re not important to this Order. Not anymore.”
“I see.” The summoner was calmer than you expected them to be. You were waiting to be scolded with the importance of duty. The Summoner was a tactician, one of the keys to the Order’s victory in so many battles. They were the Legendary Great Hero, who would ever doubt them? Who would put them in the wrong? “Here,” the summoner spoke as they offer their hand. “I’ll give it to her for you. I wish you the best.”
It was all you could hear from anyone at this point. Not all of your burns have been healed up and yet, it feels like your heart too, was also burning from the pain. You bowed in the Summoner’s presence as if they were of high importance. In this castle, you couldn’t help but wonder what the Summoner was really like behind that hood of theirs.
The Summoner never really spends time with normal troops, they were always with the Heroes. People expected Prince Alfonse to take on that role more, since he’s the crown prince but to no avail as well. He too, was also hands on with the Heroes.
You couldn’t even sleep that evening. All you could wonder was the whole impossible idea: would people still be leaving if Captain Zacharias was still in your ranks?
You found yourself packing the following morning, ignoring the rushing footsteps from outside of your room. You jumped in shock the moment the door burst opened to find Anna holding your resignation in her hand, and the Summoner calmly standing behind her. The commander was taking deep breathes, you wondered how long she actually ran. From her face alone, you knew she had a sleepless night too – the bags in her eyes were deep, stains of tears could be seen on her cheek.
But none of that mattered to her anymore, all that mattered was her proposition to you. “(y/n)!” She shouted with determination as your eyes both met. Her gaze was even burning hotter than Muspell flames. “I have a proposition for you!”
In a sense, knowing the commander for so long, a part of you already knew that she didn’t accept your resignation and is about to offer you something you can’t refuse. “Be my steward!” Anna stopped, knowing that she said the wrong words to you.
You blinked. “Forgive me commander,” you answered as you closed your luggage. “But I do not see how that will make me stay.” You were confused. What soldier would want a stewardship? You thought that they were taking you as a servant. The order doesn’t pay well, you were stuck doing side jobs just to send back money to your family back in the village.
“Ack!” Anna couldn’t help but scratch her whole head with both of her hands, letter still in hand. “I’m! I’m sorry! Those words were completely wrong! COMPLETELY WRONG! What I’m trying to say is – PLEASE STAY!” The commander clapper her hands together, bowing in front of you. This sight alone was enough to make you feel worse as it is.
You knew Anna before she became commander. All of the people who left knew her personally before she took on the burden of the Order. Even with the fancy titles and all – she was still Anna, but compared to you, Anna was more important. She had more significance. “I – I know I’m not doing my best to make you all feel welcome. Especially when Kiran had been summoning Heroes left and right increasing our numbers! But I want to make things better for everyone! So please (y/n)! Give me another chance!”
If it was their previous commander, this attitude wouldn’t stand. They respected Anna but respect wasn’t the problem, it was pure negligence.

|〘 ⋇ Summary: 〙You, the legendary summoner of Askr, the prophesied harbinger of victory, desperately need a break. Being the summoner and head tactician of the Askren army wears on your soul and mind, but war rarely takes vacations. You must be on guard on call every second. Your allies from other worlds wouldn’t take you seriously if you acted so unconcerned, nor would the nobles of Askr. Your deteriorating health causes Prince Alfonse to worry about your well-being. Your lover Dorothea is quick to quell his worries and whisks you away on a short trip. While packing, you bring a small keepsake along for the ride. |
You were a necessity to this army, lead, tactical control, and everything in between. You had to become the pinnacle of neutrality, peace marker, and mediator between factions that were sworn enemies in their worlds.
You had to deal with the misery of other Heroes seeing their loved ones twisted, shattered monsters to work alongside each other. Domestic affairs in the ever-going army aside, you constantly felt like you had to be the best, to be a shoulder to lean on, make their problems yours, and the grimmest option was that you had to make sure none of your Heroes tried to kill each other. Of course, your contract with each Hero included that they could not lay a finger on their ally. Hours of precious sleep meant nothing to you in the early stages of your arrival here. Anxiety swallowed you every waking moment as you slowly felt powerless.
Even still, you stayed late, long after the war meetings ended, reading tactical books and seeking advice from the seasoned army tactics for their input. All of this effort was so that you could prove you're not some poser pretending you understand the gravity of the power you held. No, you knew full well of what you had on your hands after all. You heard their anguished screams when they drew their last breath. Gilded as you were in lavish gold, with pearl white robes that slowly lost their meaning. They served as reminders that you bathed in the blood of your friends and your mistakes.
But after all the battles they’d reanimate. Bloodied and battered bodies twist and contort back to their original forms. You felt sick to your stomach after your first battle, one where you slipped up, and one of your allies fell on the bloody field. Commander Anna quickly rushed to your side as you collapsed in front of their body after the battle to explain. Out of breath, hot tears streaming down your cheeks, your trembling hands tried to stop the bleeding seeping through their ruined clothing.
All of the Heroes could die, but as long as you lived and wielded Breidablik, their wounds would heal, and the lights in their eyes would reignite, but one downside is the Heroes would forget they died.
It sounded great. But it wasn’t. Guilt bubbles every time, waltzing up to you and acting as if nothing happened, saying they’d happily die in your name and to your cause. They didn’t even know they had been killed in the first place, but the close ones knew. Their teammates knew you knew.
After that unit’s death, you ran to your room, locking yourself in your room, wishing, praying to go back home. Some of your closest Heroes told you fresh scars would appear on their bodies. Phantom pains plagued them after their reanimation, but they could never recall the exact moment.
It didn’t take long for certain Heroes to put the pieces together and know they had died, but how and when would be a mystery if they didn’t have anyone on their team willing to disclose that? It made you want to lock yourself in your room and disappear even more when they’d side glance your way, their hesitant tactician giving orders in the heat of battle.
Your army’s glances made the hate in your heart brighter; how dare they expect someone with no prior experience with war and death to become a master tactician holding the lives of so many and leading them? Why are you told to do this, then eaten alive when you slip by whispers of the Askr royal court or the vicious and prideful soldiers? What did you do to make the universe do this? It was so unfair. It was like throwing a fawn into a den of wolves. You never asked for this. Being in charge of an army, fighting for a nation’s war that you had no part in. Hell, you didn’t even know this Zenith existed.
You were summoned with some measly personal items like your phone, the clothes on your back, and your Polaroid camera. You coveted these few items in the security of your room and rarely used them. Even though Zenith was in the medieval era with magic, your advanced items wouldn’t last long if you fiddled with them too much.
Everyone took a while to lower their guard and become comfortable with everything. Alfonse especially, due to his track record of losing someone he deeply cared for, but his sister. Princess Sharena, the easy-going soul, was ever eager to show off the realm of Askr.
It’s seemingly endless bounty and offering her friendship to ease your heavy heart. Even now, after years of staying in Askr and loving the magical realm, its people, the allies you made. Still, you harbor a tiny seed of hate in your heart for being thrust into this grave circumstance. It wasn’t right, but you had enough time to wallow in self-pity in secret. You had lived on the line. The phrase ‘This was war. I can’t afford to mess around’ etched into your soul as you continue onward, keeping yourself at a respectable distance from every hero.
You were kind, cordial, and friendly enough to give them the illusion of truly knowing you, your mind, and your genuine festering emotions. But, because you didn’t let them into your darker emotions didn’t mean you hated them. No, on the contrary.
You loved them. You loved your army very much, hearing Heroes’ woes, trying to find a middle ground between in-fighting, flaunting many stories back home, and wistfully indulging all your Heroes with their questions about your world. You were terrific with keeping up your juggling act that never ended. That shy, nervous person that shrunk into themselves every time they made their orders was no more. In their place, a confident, wise, somewhat jaded version rose from the ashes.
Those years did wonders for your confidence and knowledge as your firm words would boom across the field to your team. Your work no longer needed constant revisions by the other strategists in your meetings, presenting yourself as a professional commander and keeping certain relations strictly work-based, never letting romantic or unprofessional ties get in the way of how you worked your army.
But fate has something against you as that motto changed when a confident flirtatious songstress, a Black Eagles student, appeared before you on the summoning altar. The clouds perfectly outlined her frame with charisma, along with her enchanting voice ringing out from the heavy clouds asking where she was and, more importantly, who you were. On instinct, you softly breeze through your introduction of Askr, their summoning, and yourself.
Through your explanation, her vibrant green eyes narrowed as she folded her arms, clearly still on edge about her newfound situation. Skeptical Heroes weren’t uncommon or wished to return home even after you told them of the Askren war. However, the latter is a rare occurrence since more than most would jump headfirst into your cause due to how good and pure-hearted they are.
Dorothea hums deeply in thought, her eyes watching your figure and hooded face. Lips curl into a slight smirk as Dorothea firmly tells you. —With her feet still planted on the ground below her, unwilling to move an inch towards this stranger clad in white and gold, their face obscured from her sight. With the setting sun, only the occasional wind whistle sounded in ruins.
“Let me see your face; I'm not necessarily eager to trust someone that won’t allow me to see them. Much less put my life in the hands of a stranger that makes such outrageous demands.” Dorothea plainly stated as she propped a well-manicured hand under her chin, chocolate brown locks framing her soft face as she calmly regarded you.
The great summoner jolted. You never had a Hero tell you so bluntly upon meeting they’d like to see your face, something about the newness and foreign feeling of having something brand new occur during your Summoning made your heart quicken. Typically, they’d agree after your long-winded description. Determination always filled their eyes as you guided them to the castle.
After a pause in consideration, you weighed your options as you sneakily glanced at her face seeing if she’d back out of her plea once she saw you pause. Dorothea didn’t relent as confident as ever, her eyes quizzically watching your every move. ‘There’s no winning with her, so I guess I’ll give her a peek.’ You thought to yourself.
“Only for a brief moment, but please, if you need more time, allow us to be a temporary shelter so you can make a well-informed decision. The sun is starting to set, and if it would help, I have some members who talked about you or might know you well.” Your gloved hands reach for your white hood, allowing her a fleeting peek at the curves of your face and the faint color of your eyes. It surprised her to see that you had a pleasant look. You saw her visibly relax slightly. Her furrowed brow increased as her shoulders sloped in a relaxed manner.
“So, that voice isn’t the only thing appealing about you, hm,” Melodic short laughter leaves her lips as the smile on her face gleams more genuinely. Golden flecks accentuate the green mystique of a forbidden forest begging to be explored, wonders awaiting beyond anyone’s reach in her eyes.
“I’ve decided to consider your request, but who are these people you’re talking about?” Dorothea pondered aloud. She looked curious about who you were talking about but still on guard. Nonetheless, as you guided her to Askr castle, Dorothea curiously asked questions about her friends, the atmosphere of the area, and the social status of every person.
You softly answered her questions. Despite how wary she was of you, Dorothea was pleasant to speak with freely and thoughtfully. Still flirtatious, you rolled your eyes. Professionalism is etched into each movement you mentioned Lady Edelgard, Huebert, Petra, Professor Byleth, and Bernadette, to name a few. After guiding the songstress to Askr Castle, some of her peers came into view. The petite silhouette beside a taller figure turned as they walked toward you and the newcomer.
It was Edelgard and her ever faithful servant Hubert. The figureheads puffed out their chests, pride beaming on their faces as the brunette rushed to her friend. Sweet nicknames roll off her tongue as she hugs the more petite young woman. The older man sharply inhaled as he saw her hug the Imperial Princess. You were glad her Black Eagles welcomed her back into their arms even if certain people weren’t in her timeline.
It had been a few days of your grace period, and Dorothea came to you in the morning, knocking on your ebony door and entering your cluttered room, telling you she wanted to stay in Askr. She was pretty honest as the Black Eagles student explained that it was nice here, but after everything was over, she’d leave and return to Fódlen.
You obliged her wishes and retrieved your holy weapon from its hip holster, and created a contract with the Hero. A magical white circle with ancient words encased you and her as you held your gloved hand, grasping hers. A thick foreboding mist rises from the glowing forgotten words, and a bright light appears between the Hero and the Divine weapon. ‘As long as you hold Breidablik, they will survive.’ You silently repeat to yourself as the contract is completed.
“By this contract, you now are sworn to help Askr’s cause until the war is over. I swear I will return you home.”
Months after your Contract with Dorothea, your bond as Summoner and Hero became more profound as you helped her train, gain experience and understand those in the army. Knowing her personality, the young woman had no problems making friends and letting certain elitist nobles be quiet.
You saw how much she disdained nobles with questionable reasonings or straight classists. Those were in for a tongue lashing of their life, eloquent words but as cold as ice and sharp as daggers. Of course, those remarks weren't met with silence. Fights still happen within the security of Askr walls.
Berkut and Fernand, for example, caused an uproar, outraged that a salacious commoner told the two nobles to shut up when they complained about the number of commoners in the army and how some forgot their stations in comparison to royals. The utter gall to speak to them as if they weren’t of noble birth made them fume. The nobles threw insults after insult until Edelgard and Alm intervened on your behalf.
One insult stung Dorothea’s heart the most, “It’s a shame such beauty is a waste on a commoner like yourself. No matter, that beauty will fade, only leaving a destitute hag. You’d ought to deceive another naive noble before that time runs dry.” You had to talk to the young woman and try to speak with the prideful men of Valentia to convince them to try not to rip each other’s throats out every time they’d be in the same area.
Countless moons pass as you find yourself utterly enamored with Dorothea. You felt a bond to every Hero you summoned, yet, the bond you felt between her was different; it was hard to describe but did it need words? Dorothea sought you out, teasing you with sweet words and winks.
You never mined how she acted with you or others in the army. She was beautiful, and it wasn’t hard to see longing glances toward her, but you made sure your glimpses weren’t ever more than a superior looking out for their members. Some days, you cursed how your status made it hard for you to have any close relations.
If word came out that you had a lover, they’d have an even bigger target on their back. They wouldn’t be a regular soldier now but a person of interest. You’d be accused of favoritism and disrupting the chain of command, so many things piled against your happiness.
To you, it seemed like the stars had written you were fated to be alone. But the brunette had a habit of knowing where you’d hide out and help continue your work, or dragging you outside to the market, making you loosen up. You dare say you’d consider each other close confidantes.
The day Dorothea was set to confess to you, she was nervous, the famous Mittlefrank Opera Singer. Nervous? Ha! Something like that sounded so laughable, she was showered with bouquets and countless compliments by many who wished for her to be theirs, yet they never captured her heart as she did to their hearts.
But in a way, it was nice to be constantly fawned over before her Academy days by men and women of wealth and power. Influential people begged for a sliver of her time or even wed her anything to keep her beauty to themselves.
But alas, that only lasted long. Every lustrous whisper and gift would fall flat. Because none of them genuinely knew, only when she was dolled up and given makeup, thrust upon a grand stage for nobility to ogle and coo over, did anyone turn their heads and give her attention. Dorothea knew all of the treasures that were gifted to her would disappear in an instant. The goddess had a cruel way with fate. The former Opera singer concluded as she recalls sitting in front of her vanity and peering into her mirror.
The voice she was praised for would change. The soft and melodic tune would turn raspy and scratchy. Her soft, beautiful face would downturn with wrinkles, brown curls fading into sparse white hair. The gifts would become a fleeting memory of the past, even the most vibrant flower wilts in due time; the bees and butterflies ignore the dying flora in favor of something new, an irresistible scent, eye-catching colors.
But that only made Dorothea know her goal: find someone that would carry her away from all of the world’s troubles, and lavish her with riches. She didn’t care if they truly loved her or if she loved them. As long was away from the slums her life would be fine, anywhere but there.
That didn’t make her forget her origins no matter how hard she tried to hide that fact. Her heart yearned to help the poor in the slums that didn’t have anyone to support them. Her desire to help wasn’t limited to Fódlen as you soon found out during one of your outings with her in the town. She’d purposely get out of your line of sight, go into alleyways and drop pieces of bread to the dirty hunched over figures leaning on the walls away from the public.
She often hid her past from you when you were still acquaintances, out of shame or defense was anyone’s guess, but you understood her reservations. There are times when you worry for your Hero. You kept up with her pace and overlooked what she was doing, gifting hungry children with food.
Though there were times Dorothea wouldn’t retreat into the dark crevices but settle for sweet smiles and waves to those that met her gaze. “Genuine acknowledgment when you’re on the streets is rare, Summoner. I can’t fix everyone’s problems, and they probably won’t accept it without thinking of ulterior motives. So a smile and wave are all I can do, and I will happily do so.”
The opera singer whispered to you one day after your many town outings. The way her eyes held an unspeakable sorrow made you all the more curious about the young Hero you summoned but also opened your eyes.
You’ve been focused on being the summoner and caretaker for your army. There were times you forgot who you were fighting for and that there were more outside of the military you took care of. After that, she noticed that you’d start to pay more attention to the citizenry of Askr, both noble and common. It made her seek you out and have tea with you, a sweet temporary escape with an interesting young woman.
Dorothea, after months of hopeless pining after you, had enough of trying to hide what she felt for you and was pretty sure you liked her too. Showering each other with compliments, Dorothea being protective over you on the battlefield, teasing remarks, confrontations over severe issues like her hate and coldness toward naive nobles. Precious, vulnerable moments are shared in small comforts of each other's presence but never enough to let her know everything that runs through your mind.
She always wondered what else was on your mind and if you were too skeptical about letting her see all of you, but the songstress wanted someone to talk to. After all, she wasn't that forthcoming about her background to you, so she’d always be patient with you, content with being trusted so much to hear your concern but that tiny seed of curiosity piqued in her mind.
You were often told by others that you were so close with each other, your auras seemingly bouncing off each other, it felt so alive and fun being around her and you loved that but you were too scared to ruin whatever you had with her after months of cultivating a strong healthy relationship with her.
The former opera singer grew tired of this unspoken item you had with her and took things in her own hands, first by spending your regular tea time with her, then oddly being adamant that work could wait for a day, spoiling you to the best of her ability with certain Black Eagles students being near too. But soon, the fun day turned into night, as she took you by your hands and led you to a romantic midnight garden walk and told you that she felt differently about you.
If it was love or a side effect of the Contracts, she didn’t care. The bright moonlight shone down upon you. She was so close you could see the golden fleck in her eyes beam with life, her soft hands clasped together in nervous union.
Pausing, caught in a hurricane of emotions, you opened your mouth to return your affections shyly. You quickly explained the inner turmoil plaguing you, looking down in shame, engulfing the white hood hiding your face.
Dorothea softly cooed to her summoner. She never knew that you had so many things under that calm facade. She always wondered but never pressed too far, but now looking at you now so vulnerable and so close to breaking down, Dorethea pondered if her inactivity was the right thing to do something else crept up in the corner of her mind. While the flirtatious woman wanted you to feel safe and love her, yet could someone like her do that? She was a dirty commoner thrown aside by her father because she didn’t have a Crest, ignored for all her young life. After all, she was lowly rabble.
Hunger and survival still were old friends, the only faithful companions she knew during her childhood. Because of this, she knew she had to claw her way to find security and food. That day in the darkened alleyway, when Manuela found the dirtied girl, that dream of having a full belly and a warm bed came closer and closer to reality, finding a wealthy person to live with and then rest of her days in luxury away from the slums, away from the girl she used to be.
The songstress doubted she’d be able even to give you what you needed, a home, a place of rest away from the War. Security, luxury, all the things you deserved, but she didn’t have. All the woman knew was the cold slap of reality and her ambitions, what she didn’t have, but the brunette took a slow concise breath. Her mind was set.
“To think someone like me would be able to share such happiness with you. I may not know what the future has in store, but I do know that I want to walk down this path with you, and maybe once we’re done in Askr. You’d join me back to Fódlan? But for the time being, I’ll spoil you rotten. In time, I’m sure we can both be together, not afraid of what might happen.”
It didn’t take long for her to enact her plans to make sure you’d stop stressing so much. After long days slaving away at your desk, Dorothea would drag you to the hot springs to unwind or to a secret picnic. For some time, the army was oblivious to your relationship, but as the months passed, the wise units kept your hidden love. They cared for their summoner and wanted you to be happy and safe. So what was one more secret to add to the list?
After a lull in the sea of battles, you decided to tell only your trusted friends that Dorothea and yourself were courting. With their permission, she would have her most fun trip with you, but you took longer than you told her to prepare to pack. The cabin wasn’t too far from the Castle, so your Heroes could send their fastest messenger if need be but far away for her to have you by herself.
“Oooh~ my sweet darling. It’s time for our little rendezvous.” Dorothea’s teasing, warm voice permits from the other side of your bedroom door. It was like you could see her now. Innocently calling your name through the door, soft hands cupping each other’s as the Hero’s emerald eyes shone with a mission, yet still, there was a glimmer of concern for her love.
“Hi, Thea! I’m sorry I took so long to pack. I wanted to ensure everything was in order before I went on a ‘scouting’ mission with my trusted partner.” Playfully rolling your eyes at the reason, you told the other associates with a cheeky smile painting your face as your girlfriend brings down your hood to revel in your loveliness.
She chuckles at your glee and a light-hearted sigh at the excuse, Arnault wishes your relationship wasn't a secret from everyone, but the ones she cared for, like the ones in her house, knew full well and supported you.
“Let's go away for a while, my summoner.” Honey-covered words fell from the songstress’ lips as she took your arm and pressed it close to her chest, locking your arm in hers. ‘God, everything she says can bring a person to their knees. I’m so in love with you, I swear.’
“Yes, let’s.” Eagerness fills your body with renewed energy. You felt like a hyper child that walked into a candy store. Every trip Dorothea came up with always made you love her even more. The two walk to the horse stables as you remember how you’d bathe her in your surprises.
Of course, she would often find herself on the end of being spoiled. It became a competition between you and showered with coveted kisses and longing looks in passing.
You softly patted the bag on your side, hoisting it to the horse's side. You help Dorothea on the brown-coated horse once you are seated, her hands lacing her fingers entrapping your waist and her chin finding its place on your shoulder. Brown, soft curls tickle your cheeks as she teasingly blows a puff of air next to your ear, making you shiver.
A giggle erupts from you as the woman behind you teases your seemingly ticklish self. If only she knew that laugh meant you had something up your sleeve. You’d take pictures of the beauty beside you and the scenery around you, keeping this memory and teaching your girlfriend more about your world.
She knew what a Polaroid camera was, and you showed her the colored film of you smiling. This foreign object perturbed the magic-wielding student, and as you explained to her what this flashing item was, she became enthralled with the 21st-century machine.
Finally, make your way to the cabin. You gently pull on the reins slowing down your stead. You eye the bag and feel the woman’s hands sit on your hips, ready to get to the ground. The humble wooden cabin stands alone. You are getting off of the saddle, holding out your hand to help Thea down the dirt road.
Kissing your cheek, the woman wanders around the area. The sun was still high in the sky; flowers decorated the green grass below as peaceful songbirds sang their tune, hiding in the canopy of the trees.
Fishing out your Polaroid camera, a devilish smile widens as the retro color and the rectangular shape out of the bag. It was full of the new film, and you ensured it worked the day before you left on your two-day trip.
Sneaking behind, you found your unsuspecting target. Dorothea’s back towards you as she sits in a bed of field flowers. It was so picturesque; you thought to yourself, then sweetly calling to the songstress’ attention. She turns halfway, brown curls swaying gently, her hands full of colorful flowers as her lips curled peacefully. You press the button, and a white flash spreads across her serene face.
“Hey! A little rude, wouldn’t you think?” Dorothea scowls at your figure as she rises from the flower field.
“I’m so sorry; you looked so pretty I couldn’t resist. You can take me by surprise next time, I swear!” You walk towards Dorothea, still understandably scowling and mad at you, kneeling to the woman.
The adrenaline rush comes down as your smile quickly fades. Her beautiful eyes still narrowed; she cracked a Cheshire smile and playfully remarked, “That wasn't nice, Darling. But if you insist, fine by me, and for that, I think I’ll take two pictures of you as my revenge,” The sickly sweet woman inched her face towards yours, and you felt your cheeks heat, stunned into silence.
The young woman continues to inch closer toward you. You could feel her breath on your cheeks; you forgot you even held your breath as your eyes flicked from her lips to her forest green eyes. Then a well-manicured finger bops your nose as another teasing smile spreads from cheek to cheek.
“I’m not the only beauty here, my love.”

Holy hecc it's already 2023 and I just now made part 2 due to unexpectedly breaking my writer's block (for the wrong fic) and I think I've decided on what I'm gonna do for the love interest.
Ship intention: Alfonse X Reader / Summoner X Reader / Zacharias (Bruno) x Reader
Note: The Summoner and the Reader ARE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. The Summoner has no distinct gender or sexuality and can be you or your OC, and the same is for the reader. This will be posted in AO3 for a more organized approach in the future. Happy reading!
Ahem!
You didn't know why you even agreed to Anna's proposal. AT ALL.
A Stewardship is basically a position that meant you will do every single small detail for the Commander and the Summoner from having their breakfast scheduled to every single night report delivered to them before bed or right after they wake up the following morning.
You didn't want to sign up for it but your worry, sense of duty, perhaps a little but of pity, got the best of you by the end of it all.
By hierarchy, you automatically outrank everyone you knew except for the Commander and the Summoner. You will be with them all the time, learn every secret, be part of every council, every decision making — you found yourself from a unknown soldier to a sudden "councilor" for both the Commander and the Summoner.
In short, you are third-in-command after the Summoner who is second.
By Order rules, no title of nobility or royalty would be effective on Order grounds and jurisdiction. It goes the same for foreign heroes who were summoned or volunteered, or your local nobles and royals who feel like they wanted to be a hero. Their position outside of the Order meant nothing and should be nothing, because everyone has to work for their spot in the order.
Things were changing around you the moment you said yes.
Your quarters were suddenly placed in the fourth floor where the commanding officers sleep. You were suddenly in important meetings, training sessions, access to armor, potions, and weapons that you've never seen before. Big name heroes such as Marth or Ike were finally noticing you! And it felt weird! All too weird!
You were invisible since the day the Summoner came along and all of a sudden you were a big name with a big fancy title. "The Steward."
It wasn't as fancy as Commander or Summoner, but you didn't care anyway. It felt as if the castle you were living for the past years was suddenly foreign to you.
But the biggest, weirdest thing you've encountered was Prince Alfonse and his sister Princess Sharena.
You did not know how to act amongst the royalty. AT. ALL.
Yeah, sure the heroes came from royalty or nobility from other worlds. But that was different. They were foreigners who wanted to help, heroes who were humbled and eager to fight with you until the end. But Prince Alfonse and the Princess? The Heir and the Spare?
This was a whole different territory for you.
You internally prayed for the Summoner to waltz in the war room and save you. But you were stuck with those two, AND ONLY those two. Where was the Commander? Heck, where are the Heroes who were given captaincy positions? You were certain, VERY CERTAIN that there was a scheduled meeting today. You had to be right, you were the one who confirmed it with Anna and the Summoner. It wasn't helping that Princess Sharena kept on smiling your way and Prince Alfonse awkwardly standing by the window looking at Lord Askr knows what.
Mind you. This was your first day on the job as Steward.
"So... What's your name?" ...
...
...
...
You wanted to run away the moment the Princess asked you your name. "M-my name is (y/n)..."
The Princess simply smiled at you. "Ohhhhh~ that's a pretty name! No need to be all nervous around me though," said the princess as she had a more welcome aura compared to her brother... Who was simply sneaking occasionally glances at the two of you. "You can just call me Sharena! Is it okay if I call you (y/n)?"
The Princess' eyes were practically shining.
"Uhm..." Before you could even answer, the Summoner gave their morning greetings to the three of you. Holding a tray of tea with bread.
Now you've become nervous as to why the Summoner just did your job. You were in their bedroom this morning to wake them up, why didn't they say anything?
You've noticed Prince Alfonse finally turned his direction towards you all with a welcoming smile. To you, the Prince wasn't all that friendly. Polite, sure, but he had more walls around him than Midgard's Shield.
You immediately stood up and rushes towards the summoner in a panic. "Summoner please—"
But they just stopped you right there. You could see their lips curve into a smile under that hood of theirs. "You're mistaken, (y/n) this isn't for sharing. This is for you."
...
...
...
What? "I beg your pardon?" You were utterly confused all of a sudden.
"Anna said you didn't eat breakfast." The Summoner casually said as they put down the tray by the table since no map has been presented yet. "We don't want a hungry Steward working so hard you know."
"I ... uhmmm thank you Ma'am— Sir, I— I mean Summoner!"
Sharena wanted to laugh so bad but she was holding it in. The Summoner just waved it off. "Summoner would be just fine, you can also call me Kiran once you're more comfortable." The Summoner was happy when you nodded. They've noticed you've become flustered, perhaps out of embarrassment due to being in the presence of royalty. Or maybe it was because of them. They didn't know really.
Heroes were easier to talk to because they didn't put them on a pedestal, but it was different for Askrans who volunteered. The Summoner was their legend, their hero, it made a lot of sense that people would be on guard around them not because they were a public threat but rather... some sort of impossible idol on display. Like if you touch them, they would crack.
"Alfonse, introduce yourself." Your level of shock could not comprehend on how casual the Summoner just called the Crown Prince of Askr.
Your eyes met and you just froze there. Waiting for Askr to answer your prayer of this not going bad. Alfonse on the other hand had a different thought process.
Like you, he didn't know how to interact with you. Between him and Sharena, he was the introverted one. He acknowledged that he was distant when Kiran first came to them from another world, but after a few missions and discussions — Kiran wasn't as complicated as he thought they were. But you were a different story.
You are a citizen of his Kingdom. He is your Crown Prince, your future King. He was afraid on what he common folk would think about him. Alfonse was aware that people say he wasn't behaving like a prince should be. But he was hoping you thought differently, that you would give him a chance to at least prove himself that this is where he belongs for the time being before he becomes King.
He stretched out his hand towards you, although he smiled, you didn't know if he was even happy you're going to lessen the workload for the order. "I am Alfonse, Prince of Askr."
"They know that dummy!" Sharena couldn't help but tease from behind.
"Ack! A-apologies! I'm so used to introducing myself in such a manner — Wh—why are you laughing?!" This was the first time you saw Prince Alfonse so flustered and the Summoner practically on the floor laughing histerically as the prince failed to introduce himself to you.
Sharena was still trying to hold it in as well from where she sat.
You didn't need to be a genius to know why he introduced himself like that. You didn't even need his explanation. Considering how many heroes the Summoner would do each day, it was only natural for the prince to introduce himself in such a way — he would be a broken record at this point.
"Nice to meet you, Your Highness." You introduced yourself with a bow. "My name is (y/n), I look forward to working with you."
"L-likewise, (y/n)" The prince sounded so apologetic that you're starting to believe that the Summoner may tease him about this until the moment they both die. "S-stop laughing!"
Maybe the Summoner is a prankster? No, impossible. You refuse to believe it. The Summoner is THE Legendary Great Hero there is no way they would be so childish.
"Don't mind him, (y/n), Alfonse has always been a stick in the mud." Summoner Kiran simply patted you on the head like a child. Odd thing is that... You didn't dislike it. Their hand felt warm.
It didn't take long for the new Captains to come and arrive. None of them were the captains that you knew, and it breaks your heart. Most of them were Heroes that were summoned, very few were nobility who just joined — probably because they want to curry favor with the crown prince or his sister. It didn't sit right with you... It didn't feel right, it felt like a sin even — seeing these people standing where they stood.
"Now," the Summoner cleared their throat before facing the siblings. "I've already notified the captains about (y/n) so I'm giving you to a quick briefing. They're our Steward, anything that goes in and out of this castle, they should know. All the plans, all the names, all the resources, all the correspondence — everything. They are to receive the same amount of respect as the Commander and I as a veteran of this Order. Failure to comply with this will have consequences and you're not children for me to even say that..."
The summoner's voice sounded different for you. It had a different aura compared to earlier when they were still goofing around with the Prince and Princess. Their aura was respectable, commendable — there was something about them that just draws people in. And you were awed by it.
The Summoner explained that look like them, you were allowed to participate on missions but it's not a mandatory thing for you to do. As third-in-command, you have every authority to override the Captain's orders and decisions. You were allowed to discipline them, have access to secret files, every dark secret, every mission — you were allowed to go wherever in the castle, nor extractions whatsoever.
You were given actual authority, the same level of authority as the Commander. You were even allowed in the restricted section in the library. Not even the Summoner has access to that part of the castle!
Anna had asked for a second chance. But this wasn't the second chance you were hoping for.
It didn't felt like you earned your position at all.
You can name so many people who deserves to be third-in-command instead of you.
But they were all gone.
And you were alone.
Anna wasn't even present in the whole briefing as you finally swallowed your nervousness and brought out a parchment filled with agendas for the day, and reported it to the whole war council. It felt like every briefing you did with your old unit but at the same time, it felt so strange — not familiar. Surely these heroes are to be trusted, they're heroes after all but you couldn't help but have your own reservations.
Heroes didn't automatically mean trust.
And you trust none of them.
You only trust Anna because you worked with her before she became commander. She was one of you before any of this. But she wasn't around. She was in the capital with other Contains, trying to ease the situation with the King. She's doing her job. She's working hard.
And you should too.
"Okay!" The Summoner clapped their hands together as to catch the attention of the whole room. "You all have your missions, go and brief your team. The Steward and I will remind here to discuss our next course of action."
It was like a switch. One moment the Summoner was a professional tactics master, whenever you can call it and the next, they are a complete child. You can tell by how they smiles at you. It was a smile your own brother would give whenever he had something stupid in mind and you need to keep him out of trouble (your mother finds out anyway and you both get in trouble.) Somehow, you went from finding the summoner hateful, to them being weird, to you now just feeling scares that you're on a babysitting job with a grown adult who has the ability to control worlds.
"You, Steward, are the luckiest person in this Order. Do you want to know why?" ... you were scared to find out what's next to that sentence.
"No, Summoner." By that answer, you could have sworn you could have a pin drop all the way from Embla's capital.
"I'm telling you anyway!" They responded gleefully as they took out a map from one of the shelves. "Anna tells me that you've been doing covert assignments since you got here. Is that right?"
"Yes," you said. "I was under Captain Zacharias."
"Good. I need someone like you for tonight's assignment." Opening the map, the Summoner took out a few wooden pieces and placed them on the map as if they were trying to divise a plan on how to get to their location. "We'll be meeting an agent right around here," they pointed at the secluded forest just in the middle of Embla and Askr territory. "I figured you'd be enough as my companion."
"What?"
"What?" The summoner looked up towards you but it wasn't enough for you to even see their face. "You're trained in combat, right?"
"Yes."
"And you're trained in first aid?"
"Yes."
"And you know covert operation protocol, right?"
"Yes."
"Then you're perfect for the job!" There they go again with such a happy tone. No wonder the princess was so fond of them.
"I'm the only person qualified for the job, Summoner."
"Exactly!" Both of you weren't stupid to just realize that none of the Heroes were trained or brief in protocols such as this. Covert operations are often dangerous and kept on the dark, originally there are three separate teams of them and one of them was burnt and the other two were disbanded.
But if you were the only one that's left... Who was the Summoner's agent in Embla territory?
"You don't have to come if you don't want to you know," the Summoner's voice became... Soft for some reason. It felt unexpected.
"But isn't this assignment important?"
"It is." The Summoner nodded. But they didn't want to force you into anything you don't like. "But if you feel like you're not ready, I can reassign you to Alfonse and Sharena for today."
It was the guriella warfare task that you said earlier.
You know I've been working on an Alfonse X OC story for a while alongside a "X Reader" one. It's actually my first X Reader and I'm having a blast.
But here's the problem... originally its an Alfonse X Reader, because the plot is that you're not the Summoner so Kiran is their own kind of person and its up to you if they're male or female.
and then it all started crashing down that the Kiran I'm imagining is the goofy Kiran in the FeH manga that they release from time to time and I'm actually shipping it????
So I turn to y'all! Do I proceed an X Alfonse? Or an X Kiran? Or screw it! LOVE TRIANGLE!
Would you like it if you could find something about like Summoner X Reader?
Like we go with the default male Summoner Kiran and its an X reader fic
Like man this dude has more mystery to me than the whole idea on why tf Hel would curse Alfonse to die in a few days.
Look at it this way. He’s tall, he’s funny (based on the mini comics), I’m assuming he’s smart (canon wise) - why go with a prince when we can literally go for the tall mysterious hero from another world?
