Buuuuut does this necessarily mean all Final Aeons must have statues? Maybe Anima got a statue precisely because in the end, she wasn't used as a Final Aeon, but had to still be preserved somewhere (in order not to perish, perhaps). The Statues are only used to pray to the Fayth and obtain the aeon, in the first place - after Yuna obtains Ixion, for instance, if she wants to summon him, she doesn't call upon the Fayth Statue. Like Auron explained, the Fayth and the Summoner merge, and consequently I think Summoners manipulate the aeons' energy (pyreflies) from within their own bodies (or maybe minds, but from within themselves in any case). The Statue is there so that many Summoners may call upon a single aeon. Therefore, Final Aeons would not have statues. The exceptions are Zaon, who I believe was created as a formality, and to make the Zanarkand temple reminiscent of all other temples (before Yunalesca confronted Summoners with the truth, of course), and Anima, who as I said, was not used as a Final Aeon, in the end. So why would she have a statue, then? Who knows. Maybe Seymour even created the statue, in order for her to be called upon by others, or just as a tribute to her, if nothing else. Maybe it was just Square going for continuity (for once, aderp). In any case I don't think Final Aeons normally have a statue. See also how Jecht transforms into Final Aeon form without even a Summoner to help him. I don't know the exact mechanics of aeonhood or Final Aeonhood, but it seems they differ quite a lot, already in how they were created (although both are created through sacrifice). That said, I highly highly highly recommend AuronLu for anything FFX, especially her discussion on what aeons, unsent, fiends etc. are. It is nothing short of mindboggingly amazing and I highly recommend you read it and encourage all your followers to read it - I'm sure many of them will thoroughly enjoy it!
