He saw the "bottle of ink" and he swirled the liquid within with curiosity and caution, should he wear gloves when handling this or was this mere ink? Nonetheless, he would follow the instructions he received- he wouldn't be missed so soon, he made sure of that.
He grabbed a piece of cloth- a long abandoned project, and spilled the contents. It looks like a... Puddle, just a puddle?
He considered and changed his shoes to more well loved ones to step on it, and await the activation.
Soon it would glow, and then it would not, and he would see the viscous ink substance bubble and gain depth somehow.
Then he would be gone with a sensation of brief vertigo, to be greeted somewhere else.
