Snake Skin

Like snake skin, I am shedding a lot of dead friendships. I understand that the past lends weight to the present. Value. I am learning when the present becomes the past. I am experiencing when the past becomes ancient history Ancient History is not worth carrying around like current currency. Ancient History is for learning how to avoid repeat in the future.

Back Roads

Crossing through the back roads of and almost vacant mind taillights of my past shine on the memories I’ve left behind Childhood, friends and fights my neighborhood on winter nights mom and dad, Christmas day Casey, Vio and the games we play Adolescent drastic changes depressing time and irritating phases mom and dad, refusal of acception misunderstood and mental niglection all thoughts of whats gone and now memories live on. My life has passed through those years outgrew all the simple fears can’t change the mistakes of my past to remember what is gone is all I ask Crossing through the back roads of my mind as the landscape passes by headlights shine on my future as I leave my past behind.
