Hello, hello! This stray little man (estimated to be around 7 years old) just popped up for adoption at my local shelter and I was wondering what colour you think he might be?? I've never seen a coat like his before!

I think this might be a somewhat rusty blue.

I think this is probably the same sun bleaching on a blue cat that sometimes turns blacks into reddish brown!

I found Redtail

Make it silver tabby, and we have Rosetail!

(I know genetically speaking, Redtail can't be a tortoiseshell, but the cat is very book accurate!)

I wanted to say it's biblically accurate Redtail, but the eyes are green, lol.

Also, I never saw a cat with a fully red tail like that, I once saw a tortoiseshell with half of its tail ginger and one tortoiseshell smoke with ginger tail tip. Have you ever seen a tortoiseshell with a full ginger tail?? Without white, just brindled tortoiseshell that managed to have a red tail.

I think this is actually a rusted black, not a tortie! Which may make it even better for Redtail, depending on your preferences 😆

that is REALLY bright, but i went through like 8 different reverse image searches and couldn't find something to indicate this was totally faked. i found a few that are like slightly less saturated but it's not a massive change:

i will say sun bleaching can definitely get very bright orange:

if i had to guess, that's a real sun bleached cat that someone probably bumped up the saturation filter on

summers coming and this year im going to be outside all day for the first time in years and im SO excited because im finally gonna get my freckles back!!! theyre going to be noticeable again!!! my freckles are going to be popping this summer and i intend for them to stay that way omg i cannot wait i cannot wait - for forever ive been the only one to be able to notice my freckles cause i never go out in the sun 😔😔😞😞 but this will change EVERYTHING and my hair will probably get a little lighter too oh how exciting this is
