i beg of you. give your favorite artists the attention they deserve. don't just like their posts.

repeatedly.

artists thrive on this. it is vital to showing our work means something to people. it encourages us to keep sharing.

and it so disheartens me to see so so much beautiful art here with tons of likes and only a handful of reblogs/comments. the disparity is too wide.

i urge you. tell your fav artists what you like about their work. reblog their work. scream about it to the void of tumblr.

even if you feel like your voice doesn't matter or you don't have enough followers to make a difference. i promise you -- your voice matters.

support your favorite artists. they keep fandom alive.

Some of you are coming for the cast and like??? I really don’t understand why??? Even if the “toxic” things you say you see happening are actually happening, there’s three degrees of separation between us (the audience to a piece of content) and someone who is in a place to do something about it.

We are not the cast themselves. The first person who has power in a toxic situation to make it end is the person suffering. If the cast had a problem with how things are going, they’d speak up. (Probably off-camera, as that is the mature and wise thing to do.) They have done this before, we can trust them to do it again.

We are not friends of the cast. I know it seems like these people are your buddies and friends, but they’re not. Even if Liam knows every artist screen name ever, he’s still not friends with those people - he is a public performer who is interacting with them as a professional. Which brings me to

We don’t actually know anything that is happening. Everything that we see is public, and therefore a performance - *even if* they’re being very genuine. You never post about your bad days or your road rage on instagram, and neither do actors. Their personal lives stay personal—and they’re none of our business.

We are lucky to have an audience to this awesome show. We are a part of the community around it, but we are not part of the show itself. We do not get to say what is and isn’t good for the show - only the people making it get to do that. We need to trust them to take good care of this show we love - and we can, because they loved it first.

Everyday I wake up

-Choco Bibi's plot armour is so weak yet so strong I sincerely don't know if they're gonna live from this

-GRG's plot relevance vs The natural fighting skill of GRG members vs Their actual plot armour vs Exciting plot twists to fuck up everyone

-Bibi dies and Dark and gang have to walk around everywhere from now on

-I am once again reiterating that I want to see NM!Bibi's chimera thingies

-Constant.... supremecy...... (in the words of a top comment under the Boxer webtoon, "he deserves to have his ass kicked, just not as hard")

-I don't think any of GRG is going to die for plot because Dark's Team is practically the only one left, Giga is 99% gone, Yopi is 100% gone, every plot heavy team in S1 hasn't made appearances yet so Dark needs all the help he can get

i don't think that people really understand how mentally fucking draining it is to live with chronic illness. like, people talk about it a lot, sure. but i feel like it is constantly kind of a shrugged off thing that people don't understand the weight off.

how exhausting it is to have your body not be able to do things, while your brain carries on as if it can.

how exhausting and painful it is to try to do things and not fully be accommodated for your needs.

how exhausting goddamn brain fog is. it gets me every day it feels like and i'm still surprised.

how exhausting and frustrating it is to be ill and to think you're having a good day, but SURPRISE, here's a flare, or a bunch of symptoms, or whatever, and now you're in pain and can't do anything. you can't make the pain stop. you just have to feel it.

how exhausting it is to know that nothing will take the pain away. that you literally just have to live with it. and that people won't get it. they won't understand that you are constantly in pain, all the time, and just have to act like you aren't.

how exhausting it is to be exhausted. the fatigue is awful. it just catches me and i can't do anything. i can't move or speak or anything. i just have to exist in it.

it's so annoying and exhausting to see my body give up and to know that i can't really do anything to stop it or cure it. it's so exhausting. it makes me want to cry constantly. i feel so tired and worn down and angry and depressed.

and yet, i have to continue on, like a normal functioning member of society. i have people look at me like an imposition. i see people talk down on chronically ill or disabled people online all the time and complain about us ruining society or taking away resources or whatever the fuck bullshit.

and it makes me feel so shitty that society perceives my only worth as my physical ability to contribute to a fucked up system.

and yet, we carry on, day after day, in hopes it will get better.

if you use ai at all for anything in your life, unfollow me. i do not want you around me.

literally so disgusted by the fandom news of ai today.

people who use ai to make fanwork of any kind are not creatives/creators. they are not artists. they are not authors.

people using ai to make fanworks are completely missing the point of why people make fanwork. this includes fanfic and fanart and any other fanwork, just to be clear.

these people who use ai for creating are solely focused on the finished product. they don't care about every step between them and the finished product. they don't view those steps as valuable.

and, often, they view these steps are hindrances. annoyances. obstacles. things that take up time and are frustrating to contend with.

they only care about having the finished product.

they cannot begin to understand that for creatives, the joy comes from the act of creating.

not just having the finished product in hand.

no.

we like the act of making fanworks.

we like the messiness. the drafting. the sketching. the brainstorming. the ideas that don't pan out. the works we scrap halfway through. the blurbs and thoughts that exist only in idea form. the journey of making something that we end up liking, that we want to share with people.

and the community!

we like being able to give to the community. to show "here is this thing i spent my actual time on making because i love this concept and these characters and this world and i want to share this with you for free."

we like connecting with people and building relationships through fanwork.

so, to anyone using ai to try to engage in fandom, or really using ai for fucking anything, i have this to say:

with the utmost disrespect, you're a fucking piece of shit.

and to be clear, when i say ai here, i'm referring to gen ai. to things like llms and the like. i am not referring to the advanced machine constructs utilized in advanced fields for purposes beyond making two characters fuck on the page

i couldn't get tickets for joe but i keep going and checking tickets for maya's last few shows and they're so fucking cheap and i. i just WANT. i want to see them both so badly.

and i could see maya, but my goddamn anxiety won't let me go alone and i have no one to go with!!!! but it's so cheap and she'll be RIGHT THERE singing her beautiful music. and there will be people who also love her music there. and it would be amazing.

ugh. i hate anxiety.

HCLW theory that probably doesn’t matter

No Name is really similar to Armes in terms of ability because she was “born”  or developed from Armes. 

In the Zara’s Guild flashback, we see Armes getting caught for “using Nightmare” and being brought to Giga’s base. We know that Giga was working with Nightmare, who provided the Nightmare implants for them to use. Therefore, it’s also safe to conclude that after Giga got what they wanted from Armes/didn’t have the need for her anymore, they just gave her to Zero to experiment on to develop Anti-God Weapons. We also know that Zero killed heroes for their karma to make the weapons, so it’s safe to say Zero used Armes as one of those heroes. But why does No Name look like and mainly have Armes’s abilities?

I think that Zero used Armes as a base of sorts, putting other hero’s abilities into her instead of directly mashing her up into karma juice. Because of Armes being a beta tester, it could mean her stats and ability to withstand the experiments were greater than that of regular heroes, making her eligible for this role. Alternatively, her powers could have been stronger than a regular heroes and became more prominent in the result of the experiment (No Name).

Because of the other karma boosts, Armes’s abilities as demonstrated by No Name are stronger than the original, and she has other better skills too. 

But hey, that’s just a theory! A game theory!

Video of a University grad ceremony where an AI program was used to read the names...and missed hundreds of students.

Rant below the cut. (And I apologize for double speed. I struggled to get a good version. It has subtitles to help.)

This makes me SO angry. The absolute refusal to take ownership. The disregard for the students.

"Each of you were able to walk the stage and get a picture which is what I hope would be the most meaningful."

Excuse me??? No. No, that isn't the most meaningful. The fact that these kids spent THOUSANDS of dollars and YEARS of their lives to get their degrees, and you can't be bothered to say their fucking name for them?

"So, I'm going to have to disappoint many of you. We will not be able to walk the stage a second time in order to have the name on screen. You've handed over your cards, so we won't be able to do that."

Are you fucking joking me? "You handed over your cards" -- AND???? Jesus.

Look, I've sat through many ceremonies. The cards are there to help the presenter and keep things running smoothly. But, if you have an AI program reading names, is there no presenter?

So tell me, if you had an AI read out names, and the AI missed hundreds of names, why did the students have cards and what was the purpose of handing them over? If they handed it over, did the program not read the card? And if the program wasn't built to read cards, why did they have cards in the first place? And why is THAT the sticking point on not being able to say their names like they deserve?

God. This makes me so mad. There is no reason to integrate AI and LLMs into everything.

Good on the students and crowd for fucking booing them.
