“Beautiful Blue Sky” won’t hide the fact that Montreal's Ought are still very much a Talking Heads influenced band, but why hide something like that. Too many art hound music journos fail to realize that everyone is influenced by something or someone......but I digress. Ought have once again delivered with an unlikely single in “Beautiful Blue Sky.” Angular and minimal, “Beautiful” continues guitarist/vocalist Tim Beeler’s assault on the mundanities of life.
Ought are the creators of sharp and focused art rock that oozes sloppy charisma in the face of those who try and pin them down.
‘Sun Coming Down’ drops 9/18 via Constellation Records
