Sunday, Unplugged: "My Heroine" I don't remember how I came across this song years ago, but Silverstein's acoustic version of "My Heroine" is awesome. It was released on 18 Candles: The Early Years. The original was released on Discovering The Waterfront in 2005. I love when harder bands do acoustic versions of their songs. Check it out!
Today's Unplugged song comes from All Time Low. Coffee Shop Soundtrack was released on the Put Up Or Shut Up EP in 2006, but this acoustic remix was released on the deluxe version of the EP released two years later. The song is very calming, complete with acoustic guitars, bongos, and computer effects. It's one of my favorite acoustic songs and I think it's a refreshing change from their original version. All Time Low is currently on tour, and will be hitting Canada, the UK, and Australia in 2013. The band will be hitting the northeast over the next few weeks. Sunday, Unplugged: "On A Saturday"
Four Year Strong is a great energetic band. Their songs are surprisingly just as good acoustic, so their single "On A Saturday" (the acoustic version) is our first Sunday, Unplugged song. "On A Saturday" was originally released as a single off of their album Enemy Of The World in 2010. The video for the song was based in a Revolutionary War setting, which explains the attire in the following Youtube video. The video also includes some comments from Alan Day about the song, and some educational info from Dan O'Connor. Check out the song below (complete with three cornered hats):
Four Year Strong's most recent album, In Some Way, Shape Or Form, was released in November 2011. The band played Warped Tour over the summer, and while they do not have any upcoming tour dates, they will be playing their annual holiday show in Worcester, MA (their home town) in late December.
