Merry December (3rd): "My December" This song seems to be unknown to a lot of people, but it was released as a b-side to Linkin Park's "One Step Closer" single. Although it was in the 50s today and not as snowy as the song suggests, I'm keeping up with the seasonal spirit!

Mash-up Monday: "Attack" & "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" This is actually a really interesting mash-up. I was really confused because I couldn't see how 30 Seconds To Mars and Green Day could coherently be put together, but it's really well done. It features vocals as well as instrumentals from both bands, which is nice to find in a realm of simple mash-ups (one instrumental track with another vocal track). 30 Seconds To Mars will be playing a string of festivals in Europe in 2013, including Rock am Ring and Download Festival. Green Day is currently promoting the release of their album trilogy, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!. The last one is set to release on December 11, moved up from its original January release date. The band's US tour in early 2013 has been postponed due to Billie Joe Armstrong's ongoing rehab. The band will play in Europe in summer 2013.

Mash-up Monday: Avenged Sevenfold vs. Korn (feat. Skrillex) Today's mash-up is one between "Almost Easy" by Avenged Sevenfold and "Narcissistic Cannibal" by Korn, featuring Skrillex. It's found on Youtube as a DJ-Soundwave mash-up. I love all three of these artists, so it's exciting to see them all come together so well. It features vocals from "Almost Easy" and the instrumental from "Narcissistic Cannibal". Also, fun fact of the day: Sonny Moore, AKA Skrillex, was originally the frontman in From First To Last way back when. If you didn't already know. You learn something new every day!

Sunday, Unplugged: "My Heroine" I don't remember how I came across this song years ago, but Silverstein's acoustic version of "My Heroine" is awesome. It was released on 18 Candles: The Early Years. The original was released on Discovering The Waterfront in 2005. I love when harder bands do acoustic versions of their songs. Check it out!
Cover Charge Saturday: "Somebody That I Used To Know" (feat. Vic Fuentes) Although Punk Goes Pop 5 was just released last week, the album has already reached #15 on the Billboard charts. I personally think that this is the best one on the album, and have been listening to it nonstop for the past three days. Mayday Parade gives us a new sound for "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye, and features guest vocals from Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil. Which is actually an interesting pairing. I apologize if the song gets stuck in your head, it has that catchy quality to it. Check out the album if you want to hear more new covers, like "Call Me Maybe" and "Billie Jean"!
