This Sunday Shed Session is brought to you by a need to have the fastest and most accurate kick drum foot in the drum world. HAHA I’m kidding...kind of. I sat down at the drum set to work on my single kick pedal speed and accuracy with the intent of regaining some of what I had when I was younger. Over the years, I’ve let my kick foot slide quite a bit. When I was younger, I was inspired by Chad Sexton of 311 and his super fast kick foot. He only used a single kick pedal, and that was when I decided I didn’t want to “cheat” with a double kick pedal. From then on, I wanted to have the fasted, most accurate kick drum foot. And I made sure of it. Seeing people now, like Stan Bicknell taking this idea to new heights, I was inspired once again to start practicing to have the fastest, most accurate kick drum foot in the world! I also intended on having 2 camera angles, my full face showing, and a 20 minute video, but BOTH of my cameras failed me. I’m posting this anyway, to show that sometimes the struggle is real. I could have said, “oh man it didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted,” or “it’s not good enough,” and not posted it at all, but I want to show that NOT EVERYTHING WORKS OUT AS YOU PLAN IT, but you keep going, and keep practicing, and improve over time.
