“Well, darling, it appears that facebook was right,” Helena said, giving Myka’s hand a squeeze. The two had just been out walking when they had seen a large crowd of shouting people on the steps of the courthouse. Myka had remembered there being something about an anti-gay protest being held today and Helena, rather unnecessarily, confirmed it. Helena glanced over at Myka, a sly smile spreading over her face. “Let’s give them something to really complain about, hmm?”

“H.G., no--” is all Myka got out before Helena started running down the street, pulling Myka along with her. When they reached the sidewalk in front of the protesters, Helena swung Myka around in front of her, planting a kiss on her lips.

“Helena,” Myka mumbled against her lips, “stop. This is childish.” The crowd behind them started whipping themselves into a frenzy. “C’mon,” Myka said, pulling back, “let’s get out of here.”

Helena shrugged, allowing Myka to tug her down the street. She noted that her girlfriend’s cheeks were burning. “I’m sorry if I embarrassed you, darling,” she called, a smug smile on her face, “but it’s 2015. They need to ‘get with the times,’ as Pete would say.”

“Says the woman from the 1800s!” Myka calls back, but she rolls her eyes and smiles.

“Exactly!” Helena says, catching up with her and slipping her arm through Myka’s pulling her close. “If I think they should get with the times, then it must be true!”

“You’re a dork,” Myka says, rolling her eyes again.

“You love me though,” says Helena, and leans in to kiss her cheek.

I think that a brief description when you first introduce/point out a character is fine (but also optional), and anything else you can just add in when it becomes relevant or convenient to add.

mmh yeah i agree; the problem i was just having in this one scene was that i was putting a canon character into a situation where she interacted w a bunch of ocs, so i didn’t know who to describe/who not to etc

Stereotype: outdoors-y types.

Accurate about half the year. I am a moderate outdoorsy person (there are INTENSE outdoorsy people here). It rains a bunch, but I love camping and doing outdoors stuff. I own a single person blow up canoe and like going down the river with my family or going to swimming holes, riding dirtbikes in the summer, and hiking locally.
