Camping Altar And Early Thoughts
I am still very much processing everything that happened this weekend, at the pagan festival I attended. There were some great workshops, met so many incredible people, and I have soooo much to process.
Eventually I am hoping to put some of it into words that I feel comfortable sharing. It was a deeply moving experience that I really kinda think shook my whole practice on its head. Which is great, and periodically necessary.
My long pondered book on Hearthcraft is starting to come together. And my fledgling new polytheistic path has proceeded to some firmer ground. Part of the weekend included, for me, an initiation into the sisterhood of Brighid that was so deeply moving I cry every time I think about it.
Setting up the altar at my site, pictured above, really kind of encaptures a lot of the weekend’s vibe for me. Where I live I am very private about my practice. Judgy family and roommates mean keeping things quiet. There is no need for that at a festival where it’s you and hundreds of other witches camping on 80 acres in the middle of the forest! Being able to exist, openly, as my completely authentic self for the few days I was there has healed me in places I didn’t know needed healing.
“. . . you saved me just in time, amajiki. i owe you.” | @sunfest
