'cold rain makes a good opportunity for phones like this to be repaired'
note⊰⊹ฺ inspired solely by the fact that I got into uni for informatics
It was your normal working time, but the day was rainy, the winter really did hit hard that afternoon and you where kinda cold, maybe you'd have to run back home at the end of your shift in a few hours
The place was kinda empty, your colleague was helping some guy whose PC was overheating and a girl was looking at the headphones, but never said anything, so you had nothing to do
You where a major in informatics and for the winter vacations decided to help your friend, who graduated a few years ago from the same thing and now had his little store
Suddenly, a crash from the door was heard and your attention shifted to it, in the corner of your eye you saw the girl doing a little jump, scared, you supposed, and scurrying away from the store, the person responsible for the noise was a guy, he seemed panicked, almost mad, so you questioned his abrupt interruption
'what can I help you with, sir?'
He walked up to you and you shifted from your position resting on the counter and backed up a bit, he was scary, with his agitated demeanor and drenched hair and clothes
He slightly moved his hair, like a puppy, you recall, to dry his hair and fail in the try, you finally saw his face more clearly and he was crying?
's-so uh, I kinda fucked up and I don't know what to do and the phone doesn't responds anymore and the screen, oh god the screen is so dead please tell me you can help please'
He asked, more like pleaded, in a quivering voice, from the cold or his cries maybe, you felt bad for the guy and looked at his phone and oh boy was it fucked up
'i...I'm gonna see what I can do'
You said quietly and picked the phone in your hands, examining it, the outer parts seemed to be fine, but the screen was completely broken and that was doing funny things with the tactile detection, you looked at the guy while whispering a little 'wait a bit' and went to the back, grabbed a towel and came back, handing it to the guy, he was going to get sick at this point
'ok so, good news! It seems to just be the screen but imma need to inspect it's outside to check if anything needs change and change it, is it okay?'
You tried to give him a reassuring smile, he seemed so in distress, it made you sad, the phone really wasn't that fucked up, it was still repairable, you saw him nod fast, his face lit up, it was cute, you thought
'yes! Yes it's totally okay, please go ahead, I'll pay whatever it's needed!'
Poor guy, he was really desperate, you told him to sit down and relax while you took your tools and prepared everything for the action, he started asking small things while you picked his phone apart, careful to not break anything
After a while he left the towel in the counter and stood up, you managed to look at him while you heated up the phone for the screen to be taken out without breaking anything, he was tall, probably taller than you, his black hair looked silky and he was really good looking, much better now than when he was crying, you were glad he calmed down
You picked his phone after checking it and started working again, catching him watching your hands attentively
It was late when you finished, you tried a few times but the screens didn't seem to work with his phone, so you had to try again, you handed the phone for him to unlock and check the touch
'isn't it late for you? Like, the rain isn't stopping anytime soon'
He asked while handing the phone back to you after confirming the touch was correctly working, he was right, your friend had long gone home and asked you to close today, seeing as the phone was giving you some trouble, and the closing time was long passed, it was near 11 pm, no busses or taxis could take you home safely, not with this rain
'i mean, yeah, it kinda is, but it's no trouble, I can sleep here if it gets worse, so no worries'
You finished securing the screen, checking it wasn't too hot, leaving it clean enough and handed it to him at last, it was nice to chat to him while you worked, but you had done your job and it was time for him to go, you handed him the receipt, trying not to show the tiny hint of sadness in your eyes
'hey I could uhm...take you home? Maybe?'
His voice had a little bit of hope, you thought about it, he didn't looked like a bad guy, and he was your best bet, so you have him a little nod and smiled
'sounds good! Let me catch my stuff real quick, alright?'
He gave you a bright smile and nodded, you smiled back and ran to the back to catch your backpack, belongings and started turning off the lights, closing the doors and checking everything was in place before leaving the place, you closed the front door, the guy, whose name he said was Yuta, went to get his car and you saw him seconds later place it in front of you, you ran to it, trying not to get too drenched and closed the door
Yuta gave you a warm smile and started driving, you told him your direction and he followed, the music was nice and the rain was calming, once arriving to your house, he thanked you once again for the phone, you thanked him for the ride too
'hey uh, can I have your phone?'
He asked with a shy smile, different from the smug one he showed since he calmed down in the store, you giggled and told him your phone number, getting out of the car and quickly running to your house while he saw you making sure you got there, once you where out of his field vision he drove away, while your thoughts raced, your smile was so bright your cheeks hurted a bit, you were glad you stayed a bit longer with that one phone
