How do you deal with imposter syndrome? I just started grad school and this is what I always felt like I needed to be doing. Now that I’m here, though, I feel like all my successes have been dumb luck. I feel like I stumbled my way through undergrad and even though I graduated with a 4.0, it was just an accident. I’m waiting for someone to realize that I’m not qualified to be here. I feel like I don’t even know what I don’t know. I just feel like an idiot and like I don’t deserve to be here.

Your achievements are no accident. Imposter syndrome has a funny way of making us doubt ourselves even when the facts are right in front of us and I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with this. I think the best way I’ve deal with it is just listing the things I’ve accomplished, even if it seems small, listening the things and reminding yourself that it was hard work that got you to where you are not dumb luck and that you have PROOF of that. It can be helpful to have a tangible list of all of the things you’ve done and also imagining them as if they were your best friend’s – would you think they didn’t deserve to get into Grad school if they did exactly what you did? 

I think doing affirmations might help as well, even if they sound fake saying them, you deserve to know that you matter and that you’re not an imposter. You deserve to be at Grad School and I’m proud of you for making it there. Sometimes the doubts in our mind, when they know we’re about to flourish, work harder to bring us down because they know they’ll lose control – so just stick to what you’re doing ( you sound to be doing super well in school, I’m in awe ) and lift yourself up because you deserve to be there and you deserve to know that you deserve to be there. - @sunfloewer

When a good friend of mine and I conspired to ‘accidentally’ bump into each other at this cafe where we were respectively going to meet our exes at to talk about closure. I thought that was pretty funny. It’s an endearing memory

I’ve had disordered eating for a long time now and recently things have gotten worse. I hate looking at myself and I feel like the only way I can fix it is to starve myself... which logically I know isn't true. It's just hard not to fall into that thought. I don’t really know what to do anymore and to top it all off it’s Thanksgiving tomorrow which just makes my obsessing over food like 10 times worse.

firstly, i know that this holiday has passed and i’m hoping that it went okay for you <33 thanksgiving is one of the toughest days of the year when it comes to EDs and disordered eating.

really what i can say to you is this: exercise as much compassion ( to yourself and others ) as possible & listen to that logic!! the EDs best chance at getting to you is totally distorting your view of reality, of yourself, and the obsessiveness just feeds into that. it can be grueling and you deserve love and support on this holiday ( and every other day!! ). if you can, reach out to someone who will be at thanksgiving that you trust or since it’s already passed, for next year. if you can confide in someone, please try to do that. 

if you can’t reach out, i suggest writing affirmations on your phone and writing out any disordered thoughts so you can attempt to challenge them ( or at least get them out of your head if that helps you! ). if an urge comes to you, sometimes the best thing we can do is just acknowledge it’s there and try our best not to give in. please remember you deserve to eat and what you see in the mirror does not determine your worth!! surrounding yourself with people who love you might help remind you that your value is not dependent on what you see in the mirror!! i really hope this helps and i really hope you can get the help you deserve because disordered eating sucks to deal with!! - sunfloewer

Um I think Spring or fall. I love the in between seasons they're so beautiful and perfect but also I was born on the first day of Spring so I'm like morally obligated to love it.
