Make these sweet marshmallows with a sunflower theme by using paintbrushes and food coloring. These make a great edible craft project or are ideal for decorating desserts.
Ingredients: Large marshmallows. Yellow and brown food coloring. Paintbrushes. Small bowls or cups. Water.
Instructions: Spread the marshmallows out on a sanitized surface to set up your workspace. To make a paintable consistency, combine a small amount of water and a few drops of yellow food coloring in separate small bowls or cups. To create the center of a sunflower, dip one paintbrush into the yellow food coloring mixture and paint the middle of each marshmallow. To make the paint for the sunflower's petals, combine brown food coloring and a small amount of water in a separate small bowl or cup. Paint the petals surrounding the yellow center with a clean paintbrush dipped in the brown mixture. To make it resemble a sunflower, you can make as many petals as you like. Before serving, let the painted marshmallows air dry for a short while. They will become safe to eat once the food coloring sets.
