Moon 86-Newleaf

The Clan shows signs of continuing to grow.  Chervilcry (65) has announced that she is expecting kits and is moving into the nursery with Brightfalcon (129).  Stonefreckle (69) is glad to hear this, but still can’t escape the sadness of Sunjaw’s death.  Airclaw (28) is doing a little better, and has decided to continue to live in Sunjaw’s memory.  Despite being in the nursery, Brightfalcon can’t seem to stop working.  She keeps an eye on Caterpillarmallow (36) and tells her that she’s doing a good job.  She also checks in on Twilightthrush (90), who is still recovering from giving birth.  Peakspots (54) is nurturing a bit of a crush on Yuccastar (65). . .who now feels only friendship for him in return.  She is busy pining after Bushmask (95), who also has a bit of a crush on both her and Peakspots, while also being in a committed relationship with his pregnant mate, Brightfalcon.  His relationships are a bit of a mess.  Antlersky (43) is feeling antsy with her mother expecting her half-siblings, so she has volunteers to spend time with the kits.  Alongside Rosemaryquake (43) who is bossing Cresskit (2) around.  Cresskit is not a fan of that and likes Antlersky more out of the two sisters.   Bushmask got hit by a monster while out on patrol.  He’s alive, but has a serious concussion that could develop into permanent brain damage.  Just what Brightfalcon wanted to happen to her mate right before her kits are born.

Moon 85-Newleaf

The loss of Sunjaw hits the Clan hard.  Stonefreckle (68) mourns the loss of his friend, while Airclaw (27) is devastated by the loss of her sister.  A world without Sunjaw by her side seems cold and empty.  How can life continue as though nothing has happened?  Airclaw can’t help her bitterness and rage as Sunjaw’s life is recalled at the vigil.  She coldly turns away any who offer comfort.  Without Sunjaw, what’s the point?  The sisters came into the world together, and, for their first moments, only had each other.  They were supposed to leave the world together too.  A somber mood hangs over the camp as Yellowpaw (12) is given his warrior name of Yellowcreek.  Before anyone can congratulate him, however, he turns and walks away without a word to do his silent vigil.  To other cats, he comes across as cold.  But really, he is just hurt by their treatment of him and hiding it.  How else could he survive the moons of prejudice to come?  Skydawn watches down on him from StarClan with sympathy.  She remembers how challenging that time of her life was.  Shadestar is a little worried about him.  Will the Clan make him into the monster they fear?  In lighter news, Brightfalcon (128) has announced that she is expecting kits.  Antlersky (42) and Rosemaryquake (42) aren’t thrilled, but what say do they have?  Yellowcreek overhears the newcomer, Twilightthrush (89), saying something prejudiced about Dark-cursed cats (particularly in ElementClan) and gets in a fight with her.  Later, they work through their issues while guarding the camp, with Twilightthrush trying to understand where Yellowcreek is coming from.

Moon 82-Leaf-bare

In a surprisingly selfless act, Rindlefish (83) saves Sunjaw (24) from a large dog, but she breaks her leg in the process.  This only drives home Sunjaw’s feelings of worthlessness.  She can’t even use being powerless as an excuse! And besides, even her father seems to think she’s a burden.  She overheard Darkpetal (121) complaining about her behind her back! Bushmask (92) is still trying to bond with Antlersky (39), this time sharing the gossip that Rosemaryquake (39) was seen at the border with a ChaffinchClan cat.  Antlersky has no idea why he thought dirt on her sister would improve their relationship.  Yellowpaw (9) finally earned a compliment from Yuccastar (61) after getting a complex battle move right that combines water and fire magic.  Challenging, but effective.  Chervilcry (61) doesn’t share her mate’s trust of Yellowpaw.  She’s been sharpening her claws near him so he knows that she could hurt him if she wanted.

Moon 72-Newleaf

In another blow to the Clan, Bird (101) was found dead near a fox den.  It’s clear the fox killed him.  The Clan grieves the loss of another clanmate so soon after Shardfrost, but Bird wasn’t super close to anybody in the Clan.  The biggest impact is on Sunjaw (14) who noticed the discrepancy in the grief for the hyper-powered cat versus the powerless cat.  It makes her feel like she isn’t valued as much as her clanmates, or even her sister and father.  That hurts.  Rosemaryquake (29) has been trying to get along with Bushmask (73).  It’s not going great, but at least he’s being considerate of her.  Sunflower (136) is still trying to comfort Stonefreckle (55).  It’s going better this moon, and Stonefreckle appreciates the elder.  Yuccastar (51) is still questioning her leadership, and her Healer.  She feels like Brightfalcon (115) is hiding something from her.  But what?  She tells Airclaw (14) to use her wind powers to eavesdrop on the senior Healer  (Seeming to forget that she also has air powers.  Oh well).  Meanwhile, Darkpetal (111) is suddenly struck by just how busy Brightfalcon is, and how much she does for the Clan.  What would they do without her?
