For the simple asks game: 3 (something you're looking forward to right now), 12 (dishes vs laundry), 13 (something new you learned)?
3) Something I'm looking forward to now: my brother's coming home tomorrow! He's been with the family back south and I have been home alone and I am not good at that. I'm really looking forward to having him back here. Also, I want him to see the little things I've rearranged over the last few days! I think I've done a pretty good job :)
12) Dishes vs laundry: dishes, not because I necessarily like washing them more, but because it's much harder for me to forget about them halfway through. I'm pretty fond of doing laundry, when I'm actually doing it: I make my own detergent, so it always smells really good to me, and the acoustics of our basement hallway (and of the dryer drum) are really fun. However, my tendency to forget to ever move my laundry to the dryer, leaving it to get sad and stiff in the washer and need to be washed all over again, means that laundry can never be my preferred chore.
13) Something new I learned: Ah well. How to replace a garbage disposal! Or theoretically I've learned it. I haven't done it yet, because I am super not looking forward to it. Because of the shape of my kitchen and the way the breakers are set up, when I turn off the power so I'm safe to work, I am dooming myself to sticking my head into what is currently a somewhat damp and very smelly cabinet in the dark. I have a big flashlight I can prop up in there with me, but it's gonna be a cramped space already and I'm not sure if there's an angle I can set it at that will illuminate the disposal and not blind me. Unfortunate!! If we disqualify the garbage disposal for lack of practical experience, though: I just learned the word 'rebarbative'! Not as straightforward a 'waspish'/'barbed' synonym as I first thought, though that fit well enough in the context I first saw it: it actually means more like 'repellent' or 'annoying'. And it's got great snappy mouthfeel. I like it!
