As a child, she was taught--if you, by some miracle granted by Ra himself, are in the presence of the Pharoah, you are never to be above him. You are to be the earth itself in the presence of the sky, never daring to reach up to touch it.
This is one of the habits that is impossible for her to break free of, and even now, while living nearby such royalty thanks to the infinite kindness of Priest Seto, she is always tempted to drop to her knees at mere mention of the great King. In the back of her mind, she hears her mother's whispers of looking upon the sun and losing your sight for daring to, and she imagines that it must be a similar curse.

One of her long strands of white hair falls into her eyes, and it snaps her out of the trance; how foolish she must have seemed, staring at him so! With a prayer to the gods, carrying her wish that he does not notice her having been standing there, staring, she turns to hide behind one of the pillar-like supports until she can hopefully make an escape.
