I'm feeling like clerics are a little OP in the beginning since Heal is handed to me and Force stops almost ALL of these ambushes in the Undead Burg. BUT I've made the game even easier in the beginning. Grinded my faith to 25 and now I have Lightning Spear! =D
.....and still the gargoyles kicked my ass.
Needless to say, I questioned my ability to finish this game, but the real question is: "HOW IS LOSING OVER AND OVER SO MUCH FUN???"
