akito and an go shopping. an gets an idea.

Akito sighed as An dragged him through the mall. She’d been wanting to go shopping but couldn’t find anyone else to go with her. Akito had mistakenly agreed, now he’d be carrying around her bags. No matter who he went shopping with, he always got stuck on bag carrying duty.

An led him into another clothing store, the third or fourth one of that day. She’d just been looking for new outfits, as if her closet wasn’t already stuffed to the brim.

“Hey, Akito.” An poked him in the side.

“What is it?” Akito looked at her.

“We should get matching outfits.” An smirked and brought him further into the store.

“No way. That’s cringe.” 

“Did you really just say that?”

“Yeah, so what?”

An sighed and continued to plead with Akito. “Come on! It’d be cute.”

Akito’s face tinted red, he was going to give in. He knew it’d happen. “No, An. I don’t need anymore clothes. Why do you wanna match with me of all people? You could match with Kohane, or Toya.”

“But I’m asking you. Come on!” An leaned against him.

“Oh my god. Fine. If it’s what you want.” Akito started to walk away.

“Hey!” An chuckled and followed her boyfriend.

“Oh. An, is that a new sweatshirt?” Mizuki asked as the two headed out for the café they’d be eating lunch at.

“Yeah. It is. I didn’t think you’d notice.” An chuckled.

“It doesn’t seem like your usual style.” Mizuki pointed out.

“Well, to tell you the truth, Akito picked it out for me.” An pulled out her cellphone and found a specific photo. “We’re matching.”

“He agreed to that?” Mizuki giggled at the photo. “You two are so cute.”

polysquary : day 5 / same dreams, same colors / camping

akito might be scared of bugs. but kohane's willing to help.

The fire roared as Akito finally got it lit. He had a satisfied smirk as he looked at the flames. The four could finally get all cozy and warm around the campfire. Kohane snuggled her face into Akito’s shoulder as they both watched the flames.

“This has been so much!” An exclaimed. She held Toya’s hand on the opposite side of the campfire. “I’m so glad we decided to do this again.”

“It’s been fun.” Kohane nodded at An’s statement. 

Akito grabbed the bag of marshmallows as his partners talked. He stuck a couple marshmallows on one of the roasting sticks they brought. He decided he should get some started as they’d all want a s’more. Akito watched his partners fondly as they enthused about the trip. Until Akito noticed something moving in the corner of his eye. He looked over and saw a rather large beetle. 

Now, Akito wasn’t scared of bugs, but sometimes they made him uncomfortable. Akito thought it was weird to be unphased by bugs. As long as that beetle stayed over there and didn’t bother him, he’d be fine.

“Akito? Akito! They’re on fire!” Kohane tugged on Akito’s sleeve. Akito looked back towards the fire. The marshmallows were on fire.

“Oh shit.” Akito pulled the sugary treats out of the fire, he quickly tried to blow out the fire. 

“I guess neither of the guys in this group are very good with cooking.” An smirked. 

“Shut up.” Akito took the marshmallows off the roasting stick and assembled two s’mores. He handed them to Toya and An.

Akito looked back to where the beetle had been. It was no longer there, which made him panic a little bit. He felt something crawling up his leg. He hoped it wasn’t the beetle. He looked down to see the beetle crawling up his leg. Akito quickly shook his leg trying to get the beetle off. Kohane looked at him confused.

“Akito?” Kohane’s hand went up to Akito’s shoulder.

“Beetle,” was all Akito could muster.

Kohane looked down to see the beetle. She brought her hand to the beetle and got it off of Akito’s leg.

“Look at this guy. He’s kind of cute.” Kohane chuckled.

“Ew.” An grimaced.

“Get it gone.” Akito was sickened.

Kohane released the bug back into the grass surrounding their camp. Akito was still visibly mortified. Kohane leaned back into him. She kissed his cheek.

“Where’s my thank you?” She smirked as she teased him.

“Thank you, Kohane. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

akitoya - 352 words

toya takes care of his boyfriend after he had an exhausting week as an idol.

Being an idol occasionally got pretty tough. Akito knew that well. He would often get overwhelmed by work, and even when he tried his best to destress, he still carried the weight of his work with him.

Today, Akito found himself lying in his bed. He didn’t have anything scheduled for the next few days. He decided he’d use these next few days to get himself back together, and to spend time with his boyfriend. Akito sat up in bed and decided to get his day started. 

As he walked out into the kitchen, Toya was already up, and in the kitchen, which admittedly scared Akito. At least the kitchen wasn’t on fire. Not yet anyway.

“Ah, Toya? What are you making?” Akito inquired, he’d really like to know what Toya was doing in that kitchen of theirs.

“Oh, good morning Akito. I’m just heating up the leftovers from the other night.” Toya smiled as he saw Akito wander into the kitchen.

“Oh. Thanks.” Akito sat at the table as Toya walked over with the heated up leftovers.

Toya sat down next to Akito. He cut the food up and stabbed it with the fork. “Open wide.”

“Huh.. oh..” Akito opened his mouth and Toya fed him. Toya smiled fondly as he fed Akito.

“I was thinking today we could spend some time just watching some movies and unwinding. You deserve it.” Toya informed Akito of his idea for how they could spend the day. “I’ve got all the housework for today.”

“Do you now?” Akito smirked. “I trust you.”

After they finished breakfast, the two of them cuddled up on the couch. The two scrolled through their streaming services to find something that interested them. Akito rested his head against Toya’s shoulder as the movie started.

“Thanks. For all of this. You don’t need to take care of me.” Akito looked up at Toya.

“It’s no problem. I love you and want to take care of you.” Toya kissed the top of Akito’s head.

Akito smiled and further relaxed into Toya. This was a nice way to spend his day off.

akitoya - 290 words

(post stray bad dogs) akito's mind is still on arata. toya tries to talk to him.

Akito sat in WEEKEND GARAGE with Toya waiting for An and Kohane to show up. They had recently performed at a live house against Arata, which came out as a draw. But Akito knew he’d need to keep practicing to keep up with his teammates. However, after his little fiasco, they were keeping tabs on him, they became more interested in his practice habits.

Akito sipped on his drink and took a bite out of his pancakes. He was still rather deep in thought about the past month, just thinking about it all.

“-ito.” A hand on his shoulder. “Akito.”

Akito looked at the source of the hand. It was just Toya, who else would it be. “Hi, Toya.”

“What are you thinking about?” Toya’s hand moved down Akito’s shoulder to take his hand.

“Nothing much.” Akito smiled at his partner’s concern.

“You sure? You make a certain face when you’re deep in thought.” 

“Nothing, I promise. I’d tell you if something was up.” Akito assured his partner. Though Akito knew he was lying, he just hoped Toya couldn’t tell.

Toya sighed. “Fine. You better tell me if something is bugging you.”

Akito leaned against Toya’s shoulder. He was still thinking about the past month, how everything has changed. How he promised to be more open with them. He was unsure whether he’d live up to that promise, but he’d try. He’d try for them.

“We’re planning on studying when An and Kohane arrive.” Toya informed Akito of the plan.

“Eugh. Really?” Akito grumbled once he learned that.

“We want you and An to do well.”

It was nice to know his teammates cared for him, but he’d rather they cared less. At least less in the regards of studying.

polysquary : day 4 / summer

akian - 398 words

vivid bad squad spends a summer day going on a fishing trip. of course there is never a dull moment when akito and an are around.

Kohane sat next to Toya in the rear of the boat. Toya wore a life jacket, naturally, considering he couldn’t swim. The two watched Akito and An as they got up to their antics, which they always would. Akito held onto his fishing rod as they waited for a fish to take the bait. An stood next to him, watching the water for any signs of movement. 

“Oh. I’ve got this.” Akito exclaimed as he felt a tug on the line. An sighed as she watched Akito try and reel in the fish. Akito struggled with the fish for a bit before he finally reeled it in. “I’ve got it.”

“Good job.” An smiled as she grabbed the fish, examining it. They unhooked the fish and took a picture or two with it. After they were done, they released the fish back into the lake.

“You having fun?” Akito asked as he grabbed An’s hand.

An nodded. She looked back to the rear of the boat to see Kohane showing Toya some of the photos she’d taken on her camera.

“What about you?” An leaned into Akito’s shoulder.

“I’m having a good time. It seems like they are too.” Akito pointed back to their two partners sitting in the back.

“They are.” 

“Shall we get back on the grind?” Akito snickered and poked An in the side.

“Yeah, yeah.” An chuckled.

The two started to fish yet again. And everything was all nice, until Akito fell overboard. Toya and Kohane looked over as they heard a big splash, there they only saw An standing. An reached her hand out to try and pull Akito back up, but that did not work and Akito ended up pulling her into the lake.

“Shit.” An muttered as she was pulled in.

“Oh…” Kohane sighed as she realized what happened. She decided to help her soaking partners. “Use the ladder in the back of the boat.”

Akito and an realized their mistakes and went to the back of the boat, climbing up the ladder attached to the boat. The two were soaking wet. Kohane and Toya chuckled at their partners.

“You guys seriously need to use your brains more.” Toya teased.

“Shut up…” Akito and An mumbled in unison.

The summers they all spent together would never be dull as long as Akito and An were there to make it more lively.

polysquad - 279 words

vivid bad squad tries to study! it does not go well.

An groaned and rested her head in her English book. “This is awful! Kohane… Toya… why do you guys hate us?”

Akito closed his book. “Can we take a break?”

Toya took a sip from his coffee and looked at Kohane, he was expecting her to respond to this one.

“Ah, um. You guys need to do better in school! Especially in regards to English.” Kohane nervously smiled at the two as they whined and complained.

“But… Kohane…” An looked up at her girlfriend, she tried her best to use her puppy dog eyes. Kohane felt her resolve slipping.

Akito happened to catch onto this. He used his own puppy dog eyes (though they would never be as convincing as An’s). But the added pressure got her closer to breaking, to letting them get out of this study session. 

“Oh… um…” Kohane flushed. She shouldn't let them get away with this.

“Ah. No. I’m not going to allow this.” Toya noticed. As soon as he shut that down, An and Akito visibly deflated. 

“But, Toya… We’ve been studying for so long… we’ve been doing so good.” An tried again to get Toya to break. She rested her head in her hands.

“We’ve been studying for fifteen minutes.”

An’s head slipped out of her hands and onto her textbook. She just groaned.

“You guys are awful.” Akito sighed.

“No… you guys will be happy when you get your tests back and your score is above a fifty.” Kohane tried to assure them that it would be worth it.

Akito and An looked toward each other, sharing a grimace. Seems like there was no way to get out of this one.

polysquary : day 8 / festival

antoya - 380 words

an and toya spend time together under the christmas lights.

An grabbed Toya’s hand and threaded their fingers together. She dragged him further down the alley of stalls. An glanced around, the Christmas lights shone brilliantly. She loved Christmas so much, and here she was trying to share some of that joy with her quietest partner. She knew Toya never really had a proper childhood in the ways Akito, Kohane, and herself had. 

She walked with Toya as they eyed all the different stalls. She watched his face, seeing if there was anything that specifically caught his eye, and as they walked, Toya was entranced by the numerous cookies in a display. 

“Do you want to go look at those cookies?” An asked.

“Oh, sure.” Toya nods. 

An dragged him toward the display. As they approached they noticed the many different kinds of cookies. There were sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, and many others. Some of them were even decorated.

“Oh! Look at those Toya!” An pointed to some cookies that were decorated as little books. “Those are pretty cute.”

Toya nodded. “Maybe we could get some cookies for our meet up with Kohane and Akito tomorrow.”

“Oh yeah! I’m sure they’d appreciate it!” An nodded enthusiastically. “Especially since Akito has such a sweet tooth.”

Toya smiled. The two picked out their cookies and bought them for the meet up tomorrow.

Toya and An continued walking for a while. The two stopped in front of the giant Christmas tree in the middle of the plaza the festival was based around. An leaned her head against Toya’s shoulder. She looked up at Toya.

“You look pretty in the lights.” An smiled. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed Toya on the cheek.

Toya’s cheeks turned red. Well, more red than they had been because of the cold. “You look gorgeous.” 

An chuckled. She moved to stand in front of him. She grabbed his scarf and pulled him down to her level. She looked into his eyes, taking in his beauty. She pulled him in closer and kissed him passionately underneath the lights. Toya was a little flustered at first, but his hands moved to hold her waist.

“I love you, Toya.” An beamed, she rested her head against his chest as he stood up properly.

“I love you too, An.”

toyahane / kohatoya - 331 words

kohane made toya a gift for his birthday. she hopes he likes it.

Kohane sat at the park bench, waiting for Toya to arrive for their date. She had picked out quite the nice gift for his birthday if you asked her. She held the box tightly in her hands as she looked up to see Toya approaching her.

“Toya! It’s good to see you!” Kohane stood up, still gripping the box as if it was her lifeline.

“It’s good to see you too, Kohane.” Toya pressed a kiss to her cheek. Kohane flushed red and turned away, he was getting bolder each and every day. “Sorry, if I’m late, I had committee duties to attend to.”

“Oh, no! You’re fine, Toya…” Kohane chuckled. “Before we get started, I um… actually got something for you. Since it’s your birthday…”

Kohane held the gift out for Toya to take. As she looked down at the ground, she felt a little bit pathetic for not even being able to face her boyfriend as she gave him his gift. She knew he wouldn’t mind, but she got wrapped up in her own feelings. 

“Thank you.” Toya took the gift from her trembling hands.

Toya took a minute to admire the wrapping, she really had done a spectacular job with it. His excitement showed on his face through the form of a slight smile. He delicately unwrapped the wrapping paper around the small box. When it was unwrapped, he opened the box. Inside, there was a pair of earrings, each had five gems all in different colors. On one, the order went hot pink, a lighter pink, cyan, orange, and a dark blue. The other earring had those same colors in the opposite order.

Toya smiled as he closed the box and hugged Kohane. “Thank you. Those earrings are really pretty.”

Kohane smiled, all her nervous energy before was mostly gone. “I’m glad you like them. An and I made them when we went to this class a while back.”

Toya kissed her cheek. “Thank you so much.”
