Training

I’m going to be very honest I love Sunnycoco/Sanicoco… they’ve been my #1 ship since day 1 because I love their strained relationship dynamic and how it slowly gets better in the gourmet world arc😭

I was hesitant about posting them because the toriko family tree/relationship dynamics are weird and messed up but genuinely like. The korean version I grew up with always treated the heavenly kings as friends/comrades and had no implication of the “family” thing so I had no idea people thought of the kings as brothers… ofc i do think it’s a fun dynamic to play with, but i personally don’t interpret them that way

I hc them as leaning more into the “they trained together when they were children” kind of found family trope and that’s what I’m standing my ground on. (I totally didnt have a months-long moral crisis about a fictional ship haha what)

Anyway!! Part 2 of this drawing — with Toriko and Zebra — is a wip for now. I tried to draw them as teens but it didn’t really work out lol
