In honor of Naruto’s birthday, here’s a mini-headcanon regarding the famous red scarf AND @sunshinesiblingsweek last prompt day, Time Travel/Future! (Shhh I know I’m late, please forgive)
I was thinking– Boruto and Himawari time travel back in time on the birthday right before Hinata and Naruto’s first time meeting each other (you know, the scene in the snow and Naruto saves Hinata from those bullies); what if they gifted the red scarf that gets destroyed by the bullies as well as inspired Hinata to give Naruto one as a present.
Originally, it was a small plan that the two would at least give their father past self a birthday with presents. But in fear of altering the time line, they simply leave the presents in front of his apartment; they did that and decide to go sight seeing around the village before going back into their time. Yet they end up running into Naruto later and in a small moment of weakness, both Hima and Boruto comfort the disheartened Naruto, wish him a happy birthday and Himawari leaving him the scarf her mother knitted for her, noting the chilly weather of October.
Bonus if Naruto ask if he’ll see them again and they both smile, Boruto answering that he’ll definitely will see them again.
