this is my very open request for the faulkner family. i know the site is opening soon, and i’m putting this up hella late, but i figured it wouldn’t hurt to see if anyone wanted to throw their characters into this!! anyways, both mom faulkner (isobel) and dad faulkner were born into money but didn’t really have a fixation with wealth and status like the rest of their families.
they met and fell in love while isobel was studying abroad in england and married shortly after they graduated. for two years they lived in the uk before isobel got a job offer from NASA back in the states--the oldest kid was probably born in england.
since issy is very much obsessed with books, literature, and language, i would love for all of the faulkner children to be well-read. it would be absolutely fantastic if one of them had a mini-library just because they wanted to be like their mother (who owns way too many books tbh). i honestly think they’re all fairly close??? issy hasn’t really given them any reason to resent her because she was honestly the most laid back parent imaginable. i’m sorry this is so vague and half baked, but please take one of her kids!!! feel free to message me on my tumblr if you’re interested <333

the kingstons are your typical, middle class family from washington, dc. however, about fourteen years ago, mr and mrs kingston died in a fatal car accident. this left the oldest sibling, blake, to help take care of his four younger siblings. this want ad is for blake’s siblings.
first things first, this request is loosely based on the wonderful show that is shameless. overall, i wouldn’t say they’re as thrifty as the gallaghers, however, they’re more than likely a dysfunctional family. they faced a lot of challenges along the way, but no matter what, they always had each other’s backs. for the most part, i imagine them to be a rather close knit family, with some exceptions of course. i’m all about angst and drama, so please feel free to bring some of that to the table.
their faces, personalities and occupations are open. i’d be up for gender reversed options as well, though i’d like the ratios to remain somewhat balanced. i’d like to keep the ages as is, though i wouldn’t be against +/- 1 or 2 years if there’s a preference. for the faces, all i ask is they somewhat resemble chris evans.

it’s nearly 1am so forgive me for this not being entirely cohesive but basically!! the newsroom (gone but never forgotten) is a gem of a show and i desperately need a plot based off it.
basically, i want this to focus on … a news room (lolz) but a news room that’s renowned for its reporting on political issues (obviously since they and their network - MBN aka Major Broadcast Network...yes literally - are DC based and pretty politics-heavy) and they’re very good at what they do. they take opinions on important issues and facilitate larger discussions – their main goal is to not treat the audience like they’re idiots. essentially, it’s a high pressure, high intensity work environment and they’re all passionate about REAL journalism and not just cute panda videos (but those are appreciated in good measure too!) i want the “spirits” i guess of the people on the show (and if you haven’t watched it worry not because that is not required!!), but i’m also super open to throwing anyone in here!

---- as will mcavoy (45+, lead anchor): will mcavoy is a fucking legend. as the lead anchor of news night, he’s smart, well-spoken, doesn’t outwardly take a stance on political issues (which, eventually, becomes his downfall) (if this were hamilton he’d be a way more charismatic but feckless burr.) he’s good at what he does and it’s very important to him. he holds grudges and is sometimes exceptionally disconnected from his staff but he’s getting better at it. he’s a man of his principles and is sometimes technologically challenged (this is why they have interns). he’s a Good Guy (if not slightly fucked up and pretty fucking brash), and though he’s lost his groove in the past few years, he’s getting it back with the help of mackenzie mchale. ---- as mackenzie mchale (38+, executive producer): mackenzie mchale is good at what she does. for the past three years or so, she’s been traveling through pakistan, afghanistan, and iraq covering stories, embedded with the marines. she’s very passionate about the news and doesn’t believe that people want to be pandered to. she pushes and pushes and she wants her show to be the best. she’s friendly and outgoing and a generally really good person. she and will have a lot of history together (they dated for nearly two years before she cheated on him with an ex-boyfriend, and they’re both in love with each other, though will is too stubborn to admit it!!! lol) and it adds a nice, healthy dose of ‘will they won’t they’ tension to the work environment! rania mammeri as jim harper (26, senior producer): rania’s one of mackenzie’s people (her Main Go To Girl, really). she’s focused and straightforward and supremely qualified. she’s sarcastic and witty, and a workaholic to the absolute extreme. she went with mackenzie through the middle east and is fiercely loyal to her. ---- as maggie jordan (24-26, associate producer): maggie’s brand new to the newsroom – she started as an intern and will “promoted” her to his assistant (in reality, he just pointed to her and started referring to her as his assistant). mackenzie made her an associate producer and she’s eager to prove herself. she’s a sweet, wholesome, midwestern girl and she’s new to the news room.[open]
---- as don keefer (30+, chief sports correspondent): not the executive producer of news night, but former exec. producer of it. brash, ambitious and straightforward, don sometimes comes off as an asshole. he mostly is one, but has his moments. he tries desperately to be a good guy, but sometimes it’s just not in his nature. he’s been crushing on charlie (sloan) for ages and they’re quickly following in the footsteps of mac and will’s lovably fiesty relationship. ---- as neal sampat (23-25, writer/reporter): neal writes will’s blog and he’s very good at what he does. he was a victim of the 7/7 attacks in london, and as he was climbing out of the train car, he knew he wanted to become a journalist. he’s smart and determined, though often puts stock in farfetched ideas (strong believer that bigfoot is real). he’s close to jim and loyal to will. charlotte liu as sloan sabbith (31, senior financial reporter): charlie liu is a certifiable genius. she’s an economist, who has a phD from duke and is very good at what she does. she often misses social cues and is uncomfortable in social situations, and has a streak for absolutely reaming people on air, but she means well. she’s grown close to will, who views her like a little sister. she takes over the 10 o’ clock slot from time to time and is passionate about educating the american public. she could have a job on wall street, making millions of dollars, but she works in television instead. she and don are following in mac and will’s footsteps of Testy Workplace Romance, but they’re pretty well matched.
