“This game is just impossible!”

Threo grumbled, but nevertheless handed her ‘tellofone’ back to the stall owner for another go. It had looked like a tasty food stall, but apparently you had to catch the fish first. They weren’t even that big, but it was a matter of pride now. She had to catch some goldfish or die trying.

Another paper scoop, another try. The game seemed simple enough, but these little paper scoops just weren’t strong enough to withstand Threo’s awesome power. A single swipe tore the paper, again, and again, and again.

“How does anyone win this? Why can’t I just use my hands? This sucks!”

Still, she let the vendor scan her tellofone again. She didn’t even want a fish anymore, but it was a matter or pride at this point.

Finally, someone else came and stood alongside her, and Threo wasted no time. “Hey, hey! Have you played this game before? I’ve been here forever, and I can’t get a single fish! I think I’m being cheated!”

   It was not often that Haise could find himself on a beach, nor has he ever been an individual particularly known for his affinity for parties, but it is all in the rightful mood for the end of summer. Perhaps more so than going through the motions, Haise had the inkling of a hope that the happiness of the festa could be contagious. 

   And of course, just as he was thinking of those neverending smiles, he finds the owner of such a quality in front of him, beaming as he has always seen her do.

   “Enjoying yourself?” he asks, a bit of the stress in his shoulders melting away. “It’s been a while since I’ve been to an event on this kind of scale.” || @sucredanse

   He watches the parade go by, as the name of it honors, amidst a red sunset. On such a clear night, the music plays far and wide for all participants of the festival as the last of the races circle round and the final volleyball game of the day comes to a close. Dancing youkai and joyful sounds abound, yet as hard as Haise tries, he finds it difficult to tune into the mood of everything.

   “It must have taken a lot to put all of this together,” he turns to the person next to him instead of leaving his focus on the spectacle. “It’s such a grand display.” || @informationpurge

“I wonder if I could get away with raiding a candy store while everyone is busy with the attractions.”

This festival kind of reminded Threo of the festivals back on the Auguste isles. Just a fun week on the beach where you got to eat a lot of yummy food and spend time with friends. Of course, the past few years they’d also had to deal with criminals and monsters, but that just made it more fun! Too bad this island didn’t seem to have any bad guys on it.

Not yet, anyhow...

As she wandered among the sea of food stalls, a particular smell stood out to Threo. It was a familiar smell, a strong one, one that managed to overpower most of the others despite the growling of her stomach. It was enough to make her abandon her hunt for munchies completely, instead opting to hunt down the source with a single-minded determination. Right now, this was more important. Maybe it was a case of not realizing what you had until you lost it.

The smell became stronger as she rounded each successive corner. The source was moving away from her- was it on purpose? Doubtful, there was no way he’d try to run away, especially if his circumstances were the same as hers. But he was moving slowly, while she was-

“Seofon!”

Finally, she caught sight of him. He was wandering among the stalls dressed in his beach attire, which raised the question of how long he’d been here. Then again, that wasn’t as important as the fact that he was here at all.

“Seofon! Wait up! I can’t believe it’s really you!” She came to a stop right in front of him, smiling wide. “Oh man! There’s so much I gotta tell you! I’ve sene so much stuff on this island, it’s really crazy! First it was all ruined like no one lived here, but people did live here, and then all of a sudden there was a bunch of monsters but there were also some weird bubbles that were safe and-”

She was just going to keep going for now.

Maybe this festival was being done to celebrate the city’s reconstruction? It was weird to think the city was putting on an event like this so soon after its sudden renovation. Maybe that was the point, though. Maybe it was an attempt to show everyone that things were really alright, even though they’d just been invaded by monsters.

But it was tough for Threo to feel too suspicious when there was so much good food to be had and so many fun things to do! Vendors lined the streets, hocking fresh-cooked food no matter where you looked. Not to mention the activities being offered. Maybe when she was done eating she could try some of them out. If she was ever done eating.

For now, she sat by the water’s edge, feet in the tide, a kebab in each hand, and eyes on the strange machines people were using to skip across the waves. It was almost easy to forget she still didn’t know where she was.

A dark shape moving under the water soon dragged her gaze away from the races going on., something huge. Perhaps it was a huge, tasty fish? Threo was considering dropping her food and leaping in after it when she saw it had... arms? There was something familiar about it.

Careful to keep her food dry, Threo thrust her head into the water, searching for the shape. Thankfully, it was hard to miss something that size. “Shyarly! I thought you were a big fish!” she tried to say. Of course, underwater, it came out as nothing more than a mass of bubbles.

Well, it isn’t like Kallen particularly wanted to pearl hunt-- she was more interested in the jet skis-- but seeing as they seemed quite popular, and offered a possible prize (plushies and such aside-- they reminded her a bit of C.C) she figured it couldn’t hurt to put herself to the test. She had the physicality of it down, diving through the water and what-not, but she could use someone with good eyes to help out.

She sauntered up beside someone standing near the water-- not close enough to touch it, though, and she thought that was weird enough, because the idea of hot sand without the aid of the cool ocean water seemed strange to her.

“There’s a prize if you find some special pearl in there, you know,” she said. “If we team up, maybe we could split it.”

Multicolored lights flashed through the air as the music went on, feet stomping on the ground as everyone danced, a certain genius included. The festivities were quite lively from what she had seen, naturally Da Vinci couldn’t resist joining in on the fun!

Soon however, she grew a bit bored as a slow song came on. Eyeing one of the fire pits nearby, she squeezed through the crowd and grabbed what appeared to be materials for s’mores placed by the fire. With a marshmallow on a stick, she began to heat it over the open flame.

A genius she was but something like this required a delicate eye, like the pretty eyes on the young lady sitting not to far from the Caster making her own s’more. Scooting over, she removed the marshmallow from the fire and waved it in front of the purple haired girl’s face. 

"Hey, does this look done to you? The last thing I want is a burnt s’more after a dance.”
