Hermione was right, of course, but the broken blonde wasn’t too keen on believing her. Where was the line between yourself && someone else? Do you sacrifice your own sanity for someone else because of something as trivial as love? What was love? Was it worth sacrificing peace– sacrificing death?

                                                     “What if I’m tired of sacrificing?”

Index finger pressed surely against the cap, she levels the vial with her eyes, though a second hardly splits before her brows furrow, lips dipping in a strict frown. Brief thought to simply  r e l e a s e , relax her hold & allow the glass to drop, she gives the clear liquid an additional moment’s consideration before shaking it once; an unnecessary gesture, though it serves to confirm her suspicions. 

She sets the tube aside before she can entertain gravity. “Sugar water. How insulting.” Ire sparked the instant she uncovered the deceit, now bordering at simmering indignation, fueling her words. “I merely requested that I’m allowed to busy myself in the lab, & they hand me sugar water – disrespectful tactics!“

Sweeping rebellious hair aside, she expels an audible huff before allowing herself to shift full attention to Peeta. There’s no questioning, the way her tone has shifted, words drawn from a softer place than those spat just moments before.

“I wouldn’t blame you. Who could possibly fault you for being worn? Perhaps consider worthiness alongside weariness; recall the reason you first began sacrificing. Is it she still worth it?”
