mckenna had just finished a blunt when she stepped onto the sand and she sighed happily, loving the way it felt under her feet. she was glad she didn’t have surf practice today, so she could just get high and do absolutely fucking nothing. like she did most of the time. she grinned as she saw someone, walking behind them and covering their eyes. she wasn’t sure if she knew them or not, but it’d be funny either way. “guess who? i’ll spoil the fun, it’s mckenna. and your butt looks good today.” she told them, moving to sit down next to them.

“no, i won’t be home. well, babe, i told you that i’d be working late.” jocelyn spoke into her phone, her eyes on the book she was holding in her lap as she sat on a bench outside of her. it was for leisure reading, but it wasn’t like her husband could see what she was doing. “i’ll text the babysitter. yep, talk to you later. love you.” she hung up and rolled her eyes, glad that she didn’t have to go home to the stepkids she was starting to regret marrying into the family of. she caught the eye of someone, laughing a little as she assumed they heard her conversation. “i’m not an asshole, i swear. i’m just... tired. i need a drink or something.”

“i was starting to think you weren’t gonna show up.” naomi spoke as the other walked into the room. the girl was confident and blunt, never afraid to speak her mind. “i thought you were gonna pussy out.” she added with a cock of her brow, arms crossed in front of her chest as she eyed the other.

Halloween.  It wasn’t something that Matt usually got into. There was always some party. Hell, he’d been invited to a party or two, himself. But, he’d not decided, if he was going to go or not. He’d wound up doing something really exciting. He’d spent too long in his office, catching up on his lecture for the next week, and now well, it was probably too late. He’d probably just grab a drink and watch something.  He glanced up and with a sarcastic tone to the person he saw, he spoke, “You know, they say that there are dead wandering around or something. You’re not one of them, right?”

Conor couldn’t say how long he’d been drinking. He wouldn’t even say he was drunk. But, he’d figured why not? He didn’t have any classes he actually cared about the next day, so why not? He’d smoked a little bit, drank a little bit.  He was a little loopy, even if he thought America still couldn’t make anywhere near the drinks that Ireland could. Seeing someone, he raised his bottle. “Sláinte”  It meant the same thing as cheers, in America.  “If you’d like a drink, I don’t mind sharing.”

the brunette rarely went out during a school night, but her friend insisted that they needed to loosen up for the night–which is how she found herself alone in a nearby bar while her friend was who knows where. with just a club soda in front of her, she looked around again in search of them or even a familiar face. truly, she just wanted to go back to her dorm right now but she didn’t want to leave without telling them first. too preoccupied with her own thoughts, she didn’t even hear the person addressing her until she turned around to see them. “uhm–hi?”
