Sunstone Co Event: Bandit Take Down 2/7
Bear waited for her group to arrive at a guard tower on the outskirts of Crossroads. It was a good meeting place seeing as these tower guards would be unwise to some of her members shaky allegiance to the Horde. Which was a good move when Senmyr loyally showed up to help the take down of the bandit lord. The newest demon hunter recruit hadn’t thrown in his lot with either side. But this suited Bear just fine.
Soon they were joined by Elder Icehoof, Hutane and lastly Ala’danas. Just when bear was ready to set out she was approached by a highmountain bull. She’d been expecting him, to say the least. Her new charge Makketo said she’d met of of her kin and sent him to meet Bear but what the little Skyhorn failed to mention was his tribe. With a coat black as night and blood red body paint, there was little doubt where he hailed from. Still Marogus would have to prove himself to the Sunwalker.
They traveled on until they reach the ambush point. It was here Hutane changed into his disguise. To Bear, is was terrible. The ebon bull was in a slimming scantily clad silk dress complete with gaudy sparkly shades. Understandibly the crew were both amused and horrified at the same time. But he was given a kodo and sent down the road.
Soon three bandits approached him and though Bear thought it was obvious he was a bull in drag, the three orc bandits seemed to find him attractive. While distracted Bear took the Bloodtotem with her and sent the two elves around the other side to surround them!
She charged in to lead the attack but missed her summoned holy hammer. Icehoof tried to ask the elements for help but they ignored the elder while Senmyr, Ala’danas and Marogus each scored a hit! Hutane tried but fighting in a dress proved too difficult and the poor sod tripped on the silk dress fell.
But never fear! Kelan had arrived fashionably late! Valiantly charging into battle! Although the sight of Hutane proved too much for the elven warrior and he was laughing too hard to concentrate his attack. Tripping on a stone and falling on Hutane, to stab him in the butt. How embarrassing.
The fight went on with the only wound delivered by the bandits was a slash on the arm to Senmyr, who took it in stride. One orc bandit was killed, while Ala’danas and Icehoof managed to immobilize the other two. Which quickly became one when Marogus shattered the frozen orc. With one remaining and no knowledge of where the stolen loot was some of the crew took turns asking where it was. Icehoof’s calm tactics didn’t work. The orc wasn’t intimidated by the huge Bloodtotem and Senmyr only succeeded in cutting the orc, which only seemed to arouse him rather then frighten him.
It wasn’t until Kelan threatened to take his eyes that the orc talked. Bear was about to order his release but Marogus again quickly ended the orc’s life. Much to Bear’s ire. The group moved on, Hutane given his weapon and shield back, and they arrived at the location given.
The hut, which was loaded with loot and three carts full of stolen goods, was only guarded by the goblin boss and his mechanical crab. Bear was giving orders on her plan when once again the hot blooded highmountain stepped forward and demanded the goblin give up the goods.
This however worked in the groups favor when the goblin soiled himself and threw his gun at Marogus and surrendered without a fight. His robot crab however didn’t have such reasoning and rushed forward, shank in claw, and stabbed Marogus in the leg. Bear charged forward on her talbuk and landed a damaging blow with her judgement hammer. Senmyr also rush forward but the damaged robot managed to shrug off his attack. However it was unable to dodge the ice spell Ala’danas sent its way. Freezing it in place.
Icehoof tried to gain information on who the items belonged to so they could be returned. But the goblin didn’t know who his men stole it from and thus Marogus once again decided that this one no longer was of use and quickly killed him. Bear was furious but she’d have to be quicker on the draw on telling this hot headed bull to stand down. She made mental note of this.
Kelan stayed behind to loot the smaller items while Ala’danas opened a portal to Ratchet. The crew was victorious and suffered only minor stabs and slashes on their first mission. Bear bought them all around of ale, water for those who abstained from alcohol, and the crew spent the rest of the night relaxing.
Meanwhile… As the ice thawed from the robotic crab, it’s systems powered on again… It’s eyes shined… Revenge shined in those lifeless eyes…
