Since Regular Show has ended, how about this for it’s spiritual successor:
The daily lives of the people who work at a Mall and where strange things happen.
But while in Regular Show the main characters were lazy when it came to do their jobs at the park, the people at the mall treat the most mundane of things as serious business.
The Main character is the security guard who is constantly in alert mode and sees themselves as the only thing keeping society from falling into anarchy and their job as this sacred duty that only the best among the best is allowed to have and failing to live to this ludicrous standard means you are not worthy of the post. They even live in the mall because “that is when the mall is most vulnerable”
Someone working in the food court who is an excellent cook, but takes it as training for their swordmanship and are extremely loyal to the security guard and is all “i train for the day when my skills will be needed, for even though i have given up my life as an assasin to instead feed the people, my debt to the security guard is such that i shall wield my blade for their sake”. Also, they have an ever increasing rivalry with everyone else in the food court except for the one college student who is all “I need this job to survive”.
Someone working in a clothes store who spends 2-6 hours each day hanging from the ceiling and training because they are convinced a stronger body is required to survive the demands of their job. they also know every. single. fashion. detail. of the last 90 years to further improve the service they offer. even though 99% of that is aobut stuff they don’t sell.
Someone working at a game stoe who is actually a classic mad scientist who does strange experiments in their basements and, when asked what they are doing here, they respond “Funding. I need funding to continue my work. It has been hard since they cut my funding. ‘you can’t do that, it’s against regulations. some of your theories are dubious. your work is literally making the fabric of creation to fall apart. don’t go into hiding and let the space police arrest you for the charges of accidentally blowing up their moon’. pricks”
And, of course, the naive newcomer who is also constantly poiting out nothing of that is normal.
Naturally, it would have the same weird stuff you had in Regular Show, the difference being that while in Regular Show the main characters reacted properly to some of the weird stuff going on, the characters in the story are 100% unfazed by the weird stuff and don’t see what the big deal is. Specially with the REAL emergency of a napkin in the floor instead of the trash can!
