would be silly if zords had no freewill

i love sentient zords sm and this is interesting

a lot of zords this would make sense for. lightspeed, maybe megaforce, etc, who summon their zords when they’re needed and then send them back to storage when they’re done

but what about the wild force zords? jungle fury? apparently independent beings from their rangers? these zords roam free, or are literal embodiments of animal spirits. do they act independently but have no control over what happens when the rangers call for them?

would this extend to the animal spirits and morphs? the rangers would have sole control over the physical manifestations of their souls, so what would that mean for the rangers themselves? is it maybe why a Reds order is almost always followed?

and how would this affect the rangers personally? the guilt would consume them if they ever found out. they fight alongside the zords, most see them as friends. they gave them names, learn their habits, unlock their tricks, rely on them in battle. to find out the zords have no say in which war they fight and how? it would alter their every view during fights

and the reds? you have a whole team who rely on you and the world on your shoulders, and now suddenly giant anthropomorphic robots who follow your every command. you can’t ask them for help, you can’t let them take the lead in situations because they only ever listen, despite their ancient wisdom. though the Grid allows you your connection to your team and your zords, you find out that for the first time you’re completely on your own

when danger strikes, the zords can only watch. the Power protects her rangers, and created them do help do so. should they fall, the Power would not mourn if her ranger survived. they are vessels created with the sole purpose of allowing the Power more security for her fighters. the Power protects, and the zords enforce that protection

despite their lack of independence, the zords watch on. when their partners are successful they rejoice. they cry when teams are hurt, feel the Connection when they form megazords.

they feel when the rangers assume their Connection is one-sided. their only wish in that moment is to be able to reach back

So, I did a thing; basically, I took most of the Rangers who were played by Filipino actors ( and extra Rangers who weren't played by Filipino actors but I also wanted to include ) and basically designated which ethnolinguistic backgrounds and provinces would they be from if they were Filipino in canon ( and if they were born there or not ). Seven of the Rangers in this edit were played by actors of Filipino descent [ Alyssa, Madison, Rose, Theo, Emma, Brody, and Ollie ( the actors of Emma, Brody, and Ollie are mixed-race ) ]; the ethnicities I gave them are not based off the ethnolinguistic backgrounds of the actors' families, for I did not want to pry on their backgrounds because that's private information, so these are my own ideas. Two of them aren't played by Filipino actors, however, their characters are siblings of the characters who were played by Filipino actors [ Vida and Aiden/Levi ]. As for Kendall? Honestly, that's just pure projection; Kendall isn't played by a Filipino actress but I wanted to make Kendall be from the same ethnolinguistic backgrounds as I am because..... look, she's my favorite— I'm legitimately her IRL— and I have the power to, okay?!
