Saw my sleep specialist yesterday. He's a dapper older French man who loves dogs and whispers sweet nothings into my service dog's ear in French. Which I absolutely allow because it's adorable.
He sat down right next to me and *gently* chastised me for waiting until things got this bad again to make an appointment.
"This is no quality of life for you. There are more things we can try. I cannot help you if you do not come see me" *said in French accent*
I guess I am just so accustomed to feeling like crap all the time that I stubbornly muscle through things when I really shouldn't. I tell myself, "It's not bad enough to ask for help yet," until it's so bad that I want to lay down on the floor and stay there forever.
Also, I was scared of getting put on the really heavy-duty medication for idiopathic hypersomnia that has a metric fuckton of potential side effects. That's not what's happening, though. I'm getting put on Sunosi, assuming my insurance covers it. Until that comes in, he's maxing out my dose of Modafinil.
TLDR: Rosie is a stubborn idiot who needs to start asking for help BEFORE things hit a crisis point!
