FTC West Super-Regionals: Day 2

The robots have been busy playing matches.  Teams have had a great time with the games night on Saturday.  The nerf war room was a hit.

Super-Regionals: Day 3

Today was an interesting day full of learning opportunities.

We've been learning about the many different things that can go wrong with a robot.  On the bright side, they've all been things we can fix.

We have enjoyed meeting all the teams and seeing how they've built different robots to play the same game.

Super-Regionals, Day 2

Today, we had a team photo, robot inspection, and judging.

We worked on solving a few issues with the robot.  It turned out the drive motors were wearing out and causing lots of odd problems.  Once they were replaced, things got much better.

Lily was collecting and scoring blocks in a practice match.

Super-Regional Competition (West): Day 1

The whole team is in Oakland for the FTC West Super Regional.

We spent the morning at Space Systems Loral (SSL).  MDA made the arrangements for us.  We loved getting to learn more about how satellites are built.  It's hard to imagine designing and building something that has to work for 15 years with no maintenance!

Tonight our robot, Lily, has been on the practice field and was attracting attention for her fast hanging.

We even have our new team buttons ready to hand out.

Thursday is registration, inspections, and judging.

Friday, the matches start.  You can watch the live feed: 3491 FIX IT is in the Gold Division.

Supers!!

Today is the first day of the Super-Regionals! Not everyone played today, but here is the update as to who did play today...

Alabama(#2) won game 1 against Michigan, who upset Louisville(#15) in the Regionals last week, 4-1.

Louisiana(#14) took game 1 against the defending champs, ASU(#3).

Tomorrow we have the following match-ups.

South Florida(upset #5 seed Florida Gators) vs. Hofstra(upset #12 seed UCLA).

Arizona(#13) vs. Oklahoma(#4).

Oregon(#11) vs. Texas(#6).

Alabama(#2) and Michigan will finish up their series.

Louisiana(#14) and ASU(#3) will finish up their series.
