Bruce. When did you know for sure-- like, how did you know you were ready to marry Clark?

I… I don’t know. He has been my best friend for over twenty years, Dick. He has been there for the good and the bad. He has picked me up when I’ve fallen down. Before we were even dating I knew that I loved him, I was just too damn stubborn to say it to him. But, things changed and I’m very happy that we were able to get to that point, even if he had to almost die for us to get to that point. 

You get to this point where everything is so… domestic. You share a bed with this person, you do everything together. I love him. I knew at some point we were gonna get married. I wasn’t sure when that would happen, I just knew it was going too. 

It hadn’t even felt real when I asked his parents to marry him. Or even when I put my father’s ring on his finger the first time. Maybe I was ready to marry him the whole time. 

I really can’t answer your question.

Kent/Wayne Wedding - Gotham City

The day was finally here. He was getting married today. For what felt like the millionth time Bruce fixed his new cuff links. There was no point in doing so. They were perfect. So far everything had turned out to be perfect. Leslie had even made it! 

Bruce looked at his watch again. It was almost five. Five to five, he would have laughed if he could. He wondered if Clark could hear his heart beating in his chest. More of racing in his chest. 

'You're marrying your best friend. Just take a calming deep breath.' He closed his eyes as he did so. When he opened them he didn't feel any better and he wouldn't till he saw Clark again. 

"Master Bruce," Alfred gently cupped his elbow. "It's time, sir." Bruce nodded letting the older man lead him away from the window. "It'll all be over soon, Bruce." 

"Then I get to do this tomorrow." There was a weak chuckle from his lips.

Morning of the Wedding | SuperBat Verse | Drabble

His morning had started off like every other morning. The only thing was the other side of the bed was empty. No, Clark would be right where he belonged tonight. With a grunt he climbed out of bed, with a quick shower he headed downstairs. Which was a bad idea, but that's where all the coffee was. 

Alfred was giving orders as he walked. "Master Bruce! I was just coming to wake you. Here, sir." The man pushed a cup off coffee into his hands. "Master Clark and his parents should be here soon." Bruce took a drink listening to the man go on. 

"Alfred. Don't work too hard. Can't have my best man wear himself out before the wedding." Bruce gave him a smile. 

Alfred paused in his rabbling and patted the younger man on the arm. "I shall be fine, Master Bruce." Bruce turned to leave as the man grabbed his arm. "Oh, before I forget. Leslie... Doctor Thompkins' plane has been delayed. She is unsure if she'll make it to the service on time. Just thought you should know." 

"Oh..." He was very disappointed. He had wanted her here when he got married. She was after one of his parental figures growing up. She had taught him so much as a child and as an adult.  They may not have gotten along when it came to his night actives but that didn't stop her from loving him. "I'm sure she'll be here on time," he didn't sound so convinced.

The Night Before the Bells | Closed |

Bruce sat in his office of the Manor staring at the ceiling. Normally around this time he would be out running over rooftops. But, Clark didn't want him out there the night before the wedding, not that he could blame him. He was bored and missing the man he loved. At least on the plus side they were getting married tomorrow. He pulled his cell from his pocket and pulled up Clark's number.

[Text:Clark]: I hate this.

[Text:Clark]: Tell me why again I can't see you?

The Cat is Out of the Bag | SuperBat Verse | Drabble

"Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest comes all the way from Gotham City. The Prince of Gotham himself, Mister Bruce Wayne!" The host stood up from his desk to clap along with the crowd. Bruce came out with a smile and shook the man's hand they both sat down.

"Welcome back!" The host patted him on the arm. "It's been awhile hasn't it?"

Bruce nodded crossing a leg over the other. "I think about a year, yeah." Bruce pushed up his glasses.

"What's with that? That's new." The host pointed around his eyes.

"This, my friend, is what happens when you get old," Bruce chuckled. and so did the crowd. "Besides I heard they make me look dashing." A few of the ladies whistled. Bruce chuckled.

"Looks like you have a few fans." The host looked at his cards before tossing them over his shoulder. "What's new? I heard something in the rumor mill about you and someone very lucky." The ladies of the audience groaned, maybe a few men too.

"Yeah, I did a cover for Time Magazine. I'm getting married to my best friend, Clark. Soon, we hope." Bruce chuckled softly. "Still working on a date and everything." 

The host smiled and clapped him on the shoulder. "Well, ladies and gentlemen the cat's out of the bag. We have to take a break but once we get back you have to tell us more. More with Bruce Wayne after this break!"
