With the sun bearing down, the temperature was spiking around them. Heat blowing up the whole city, sweat pouring from her head. Her bangs, poor things, soaked through dripping down her face. Though, it was nice that it wasn’t cold, but the hot wind that swirled up from the cement and shot to the sky like it was on a mission left much to be desired.
Still, the walk through the burbs was nice. Unlike the heft of the city, the suburbs were calm and tiny, nice houses lined in rows with freshly cut grass and so many trees! Cars didn’t drive 90mph in a crowded space. It was serene. It wasn’t for her, mind you, but it was a nice visit.
However, unlike the city where Hinata knew every road and street, she was woefully ignorant of the burbs. Often she’d get lost in cul-de-sacs, confused by one ways that became dead ends, and eventually all the houses would be the same.
Case in point, an hour had gone by, and this was the third time she’d seen the house with the flamingo that had been slightly burned in the front yard. She wanted, yes desired, to ask what happened, but the answer was either robot, alien, mutant, or some combination of the above.
However, at the end of the street stood a woman, either waiting for a bus or to cross, she wasn’t sure. But Hinata slowly approached her, building the courage to speak on the walk there. “Um, m-m-” oh no, age, think this through Hinata, “-miss-” yes, that’s good.
