I dunno if anyone mentioned this to you but I'm p sure ruby meant she couldn't see with her future vision. Garnet showed Steven where amethyst and pearl were with hers; I think she was trying to do something similar to find sapphire

I think that quote is more of an idication that Anju’s mom thought Kafei disappeared to run off with Cremia, which is why she doesn’t like him. I always thought that Cremia liked Kafei, but i think it makes more sense she actually loved Anju.
